Author: jeffkarmil Surnames: Bennett Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.bennett/4230.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have ties to Vermont Bennetts I can confirm Effingham/Freedom NH Bennetts to Maine - by the birth of William Bennett born around 1767 and then a a son William Bennett who was born around 1804 and his son William W. Bennett who's brother was a prominent political figure in both Maine and Mass. William W.'s wife was Charlotte Bennett who I believe was the daughter of a Joseph Bennett, both lines were from a John Bennett - I think pre-dating your John and Hannah, but related somehow. I have descendancy from William Bennett and Lois Flint (william born in the late 18th century) through present day on a couple of lines, trying to tie in to the earlier lines. I would love to share - Bennetts have been twangled for me for years. I am finding that the middle initial of the men seems to be the key to distinguish the males from other relatives on Bennetts, it's just hard to place the males with the right Bennett father.
