I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Carl BENNETT which was taken at the P. S. Ryder Studio in Syracuse, New York. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Carl likely in his teens at the time it was taken. In addition to his name, someone has written "old beau of Mothers from Syracuse" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following census records: 1880 census of Syracuse, NY: Hansey BENNETT, age 48, born NY, a Teacher, parents born NY Joseph A. BENNETT, son, age 17, born NY, a Bookkeeper, parents born NY Andrew D. BENNETT, son, age 14, born NY, a Clerk, parents born NY Carl L. BENNETT, son, age 12, born NY, at School, parents born NY 1910 census of Brutus, NY: Carl L. BENNETT, age 42, 2nd marriage 1 year, born NY, parents born NY, a Factory Foreman Helene BENNETT, wife, age 40, 1st marriage 1 year, no children, born NY, parents born Germany John BENNETT, son, age 15, born NY, parents born NY 1920 census of Brutus Township, NY: Carl L. BENNETT, age 52, born NY, parents born NY, a Dry Goods Merchant Helene BENNETT, wife, age 50, born NY, parents born Germany I am hoping to locate someone from Carl's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of his family. If you are a member of this BENNETT Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Author: lyndaturner72 Surnames: Bennett, Seward, Pride Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.bennett/9542/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am seeking information about Jerome Bennett who was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and died in Baltimore in 1972. He was married to Hattie Seward (I believe this was her married name, because she appeared in the 1930 census with husband Herbert and children Norman, Carroll, Erwin, and Herbert, Jr.) Jerome and Hattie had a son named Leroy Matthew Bennett who died in Tacoma, Washington in 1992 and married Ann Elizabeth Pride. (I have information on their children and grandchildren.) Jerome and Hattie may also have had a daughter named Shirley. I believe that I have found Jerome Bennett in the 1900 census living in Baltimore with his mother, whose name also was Hattie, and his siblings Leroy, Mary, Frances, and Andrew. Does anyone have information on Jerome and his wife Hattie or know who Jerome's father was? If you do, I would be grateful if you would reply to this posting. Thanks so much.
