My grandfather's name was Christopher Columbus "LUM" Bennett born in Wise co. Virginia in April 12, 1882. married to Lakie Virginia Russell. His father was Spencer Bennett born Jan. 1856 in Wise co.Va. married to Dicie M. Mullins. I have two George Bennett folks born London, one 1841, the other 1885, though none of them or Irish descent. Can trace them all back to 1700s at St. Anne, Soho, Westminster. Bennett. My John was born in Vermont about 1785 (as reported by John in the 1850 census), married Hannah Baker in Dutchess County, New York in 1813, then migrated to the Steuben/Yates/Seneca County area of New York, where John and Hannah raised a large family. About 1847, they moved to Ohio, residing in the same area that many of the Withamsville descendents were living (Anderson township, Hamilton County and Pierce township, Clermont county). John P. Bennett died in 1861 and is buried in the Amelia IOOF Cemetery in Pierce township. I believe my John had a sister named Mary who was married to a Hiatt, and he named one of his two known daughters Olive. I have not found a connection between him and the Withamsville Bennetts, but are wondering if you may have any info to connect them.
