Unfortunately, the name of COLLINS is the very one that I have the very least information on. And I don't even know for sure if that is her surname but we think so. Mary COLLINS is said to have been the name of the wife of Evan ELLZEY from South Carolina and they were the parents of my paternal 2nd great grandmother, Harriett ELLZEY, born: 1824 in Jones County, Mississippi most likely. Harriett ELLZEY could have possibly had the middle name of Almeda but I am only speculating as her granddaughter was named Harriett Almeda "Mead" BRIGHT. Harriett ELLZEY, born: 1824 in Jones Co., MS, married John LEWIS, born: abt. 1820 in Jones Co., MS, who was the son of Nancy COPELAND, (daughter of Ripley COPELAND, (RS,) born: abt. 1761 in NC, lived in Sumter Co., SC, and his wife, Rachael TUCKER,) and Nancy's husband, Howell LEWIS, born: bet. 1782-1788 in Granville Co., NC,) and Harriett ELLZEY and John LEWIS were the parents of: Children of Evan ELLZEY and ?Mary COLLINS? include: (1.) 1. [BENNETT] MS/Jones/Jasper/1800s
    2. Hello, To anyone that has information on any BENNETTs in the 1800s in Jones/Jasper County, Mississippi, we are greatly in need of your help to identify the woman who married my 2nd great grandfather's brother. It is quite probable that they are part of the BENNETT - MANGUM group that married into these other lines starting at least back in the 1600's in Virginia. There is a whole family group of MYRICKs and related surnames of GRANTHAM, AMMONS, PARKER, LEWIS, HOWELL, BARLOW, ELLZEY, COLLINS, MANGUM, BRIGHT, HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, PIERCE, LOWE, ANDERSON, LITTLE, STUCKEY, STINSON, LOTT, HATTEN, SLAUGHTER, WILLIAMS, McCARTY, McCAIN, JONES, SPRADLEY, CAGLE, MILLS, and other connecting names that are desperately trying to find the BENNETT connection that we believe exists or to find the correct name instead. There is a woman whom we have listed in some information as ? BENNETT and in some information as in the 1850 Jasper County, MS census as Quilla MYRICK, (MYRICK was her married name,) so it is possible that she was actually named Quilla or Aquilla BENNETT or Quilla ? But in pre-internet information that came to me in my immediate MYRICK family as well as to a woman in her 80's that was, I believe, a great granddaughter of this couple, that showed the same as mine that the husband's name was Aquilla MYRICK and the name of Aquilla shows up for men in connecting families so it certainly makes sense for Aquilla to be his name and it is possible that the census was incorrect and the wife may have said that her name was Mrs. Quilla MYRICK with the census taker thinking that it was her given name but we just don't know. It is possible that the husband's name is James MYRICK as is thought by some researchers. This man whom is possibly named Aquilla?/James? MYRICK was born in or about 1814 and it is possible that he was born in Georgia or this may be the date and location for the birth of his wife whom is Quilla?/? BENNETT? as the birthdate and location is shown as hers in the 1850 Jasper Co., MS census. This woman, ?/Quilla? BENNETT?, and husband, Aquilla?/James? MYRICK, had the following known children: (1.) Also, I wonder if this .......................EVANS family might be related to my maternal .......................EVANS lineage of "Panther" EVANS and daughter, .......................Malinda/Melinda EVANS, who married Alson Bluford "Gip" JONES, .......................who are all related somehow to Alson Bluford "Gip" EVANS. .......................And recently I have come to believe this is an even greater .......................possibility due to the fact that this EVANS - JONES family .......................married into the McCARTY - McCAIN - SPRADLEY line that .......................also had a SPRADLEY marriage of a man named either .......................William or James SPRADLEY who married a woman named .......................Mary MANNING who married a man named MYRICK. And I .......................am trying to find out more information on them as well.) (3.) Samuel E. MYRICK ..............born: 1837 ..............(Was he a twin to sister, Sarah Elizabeth MYRICK?) (4.) William Willis "Willis" MYRICK ..............born: 1841 ..............md: Rhoda EVANS ..............Note: ..............(sister of Elberry Ann EVANS who married ...............as a 2nd wife of Willis's sister, Sarah Elizabeth MYRICK's ...............husband,Maston/Mastin GRANTHAM, son of ...............Richard "Lucky" GRANTHAM, III, brother of ...............my paternal 3rd great grandmother, ...............Cynthia "Sina" GRANTHAM, born: abt. 1800.) (5.) John David MYRICK ...............born: 1843 (6.) James C. MYRICK ...............born: 1845 (7.) Daniel L. MYRICK ...............born: 1850 And this man Aquilla?/James? MYRICK was the son of Elizabeth "Bettie" PIERCE, born: 1790 in 96th District, SC, (believed to be the daughter of Hugh PIERCE, (RS,) born: abt. 1749 in Frederick Co., VA, (possibly had a twin brother named Daniel PIERCE, said to have been born 1751 in Frederick County, Virginia, son of Elizabeth ? and Richard PIERCE, immigrants,) and Hugh PIERCE's wife, Sofia HUNTER, daughter of Cherokee parents, mother: BEAVER TOATER/TOTER, (listed in the Cherokee rolls in Georgia,) and father: BOLD HUNTER, born: abt. 1750 in North Carolina, whom is believed most likely to be a man named John BOWLES, born: abt. 1750 in North Carolina, (son of a Cherokee mother and Scottish trader father,) who became known as Chief John BOWL/BOWLES/THE BOWL/DUWALI/aka D'IWALI, BOLD HUNTER. He was lighter skinned with reddish hair and gray eyes. He became the Chief of the Texas Cherokee after being the Chief of the Arkansas Cherokee and was a friend of adopted Cherokee brother, Sam HOUSTON, in Texas where he settled with a group of his relatives and Cherokee tribe members originally out of North Carolina that traveled through the south into Missouri where they lived until the "Great Earthquake" in 1811 and then into Arkansas until 1819 when they went into East Texas eventually settling in the area that is now Van Zandt County where he died when murdered on July 16, 1839 near what is now Canton during the "Last Battle of the Texas Cherokee" when the approximately 83 year old Chief was defending the land given to the Texas Cherokee by then Texas Republic President Sam HOUSTON and the new administration after HOUSTON wanted the land back. Our BOLD HUNTER has not been proven yet to be the same BOLD HUNTER who was also Chief John BOWLES but the circumstantial evidence is great and our BOLD HUNTER was also in Texas during the same time and died about the same time and his daughter mentioned above, Mrs. Sofia HUNTER PIERCE, died in Rusk County, Texas, one of the neighboring counties, in 1849. In addition, there were 2 other brothers of Aquilla?/James? MYRICK and William H. "Billy" MYRICK and they were named: William Henry "Henry" MYRICK .....born: abt. 1820 in Alabama .....md: wife # 1: Rebecca ? .....md: wife # 2: Mary "Polly" BYRD ...................(who were her parents?) and Jeremiah Pinckney "Pink" MYRICK .....born: abt. 1820 in Alabama .....md: Mildred "Milly" STINSON ................(mother's 1st name was Elizabeth .................but don't know maiden name and .................don't know father's name.) Looking forward to hearing from ANYONE who can clear up the BENNETT mystery. Thanks. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick - Barnett

    1. [BENNETT] John Henry Bennet(t)b@1790
    2. Its been a few years since I posted this and still have not been able to make any connections. Thought I would try again. Here's what I know and would like to know ancestors etc. Karen Elizabeth (Bennett) md Joseph Kelso. From his 1808 will in Monongalia Co WV he leaves his estate to his wife, her two sons (Edward & John), his son-William and his other children. Cannot locate any info on Edward. John is in the War of 1812. John md Catharine Michael around Monongalia Co about 1816. By 1818 John has land in Dearborn Co IND. About 1835 he dies. Here are a list of children. Some of them are named for his wife's family. I believe the rest are named after his family. If that is the case then I suspect that Elizabeth may have been a second wife to John's father. CHildren: Jared Michael Bennett-named after her father Jane - Hannah-named after her mother William- Seth S. Bennett - Joseph Kelso Bennett-named after his stepfather Casper Michael Bennett -named after her brother Elizabeth Ann Bennett - (?)named after his stepmother I think that Jane was John's 'real' mother's name and William was his father's name. Therefore I am looking for a William & Jane Bennett. Seth may have been a g'father or uncle from the family. Also I believe John's older brother, Edward is named for a family member and may have died after 1808 andbefore 1818.
