This the little bit I have on my Bennett Family from England, maybe something will appear familiar to you. I would appreciate any advise you could give me on a direction to find more information, especially in regards to the Lady of Title. Thank you, Ann Descendants of Joseph Bennett Generation No. 1 1. Joseph Bennett was born 1767 in London, England. He married Lady of Title 1803. She died 1810 in when Joseph, Jr. was 5 years old. Military service: Colonel in British Army Child of Joseph Bennett and Lady Title is: 2. i. JOSEPH BENNETT, JR., b. May 10, 1805, London, England; d. January 30, 1894, Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan. Generation No. 2 2. Joseph Bennett, Jr. (Joseph1) was born May 10, 1805 in London, England, and died January 30, 1894 in Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan. He married Elizabeth Collins 1832 in Headley Parish, Hampshire Co., England, daughter of Stephen Collins and Jemima Etherington. She was born November 06, 1807 in Headley, Hampshire Co., England, and died July 13, 1882 in Adrian, Michigan. Notes for Joseph Bennett, Jr.: After marriage at Headley Parish, they came to America landed at NY then to Detroit. British army Veterans and families were offered Crown Land Grants in Canada as Col. Talbot settlers and Joseph took the north half of Lot 294 south of Talbot Road West, Twp. Sandwich, about 12 miles from Detroit. They had to clear land and build a house in the first year and later receive Crown Land Patents. This lot was at the cross roads of Talbot and Malden, than used by the army, so Joseph later named it Maidstone Cross after his native Maidstone England and the village still carries the name. this information taken from ST. Hi, saw your message and as my husband attends his Navy reunions, I know how much it means to locate an old buddy. Have you tried to contact the American Legion and VFW in that area? They might post a sign for you, or run a note in their newsletter. He might be a member, if not an old friend of his may be and they might be able to tell you where his family moved to. You might also advertise for free in their magazines, "looking for" section. Also check to see if your Signal Corp group has reunions, if so they will advertise in those two magazines.
