The Benjamin Bennett I am seeking was the spouse of Edward's sister, Emeline, probably born in the early 1840s. Allegedly, Benjamin & Emeline had two children, Bennie & Hilda Bennett. Is your Carl a descendant of William Magee, b. 1852?

My Grandmother was Calista Bennett who married Carl Magee. They and all our family are still living in Union city for the most part. I know that my greatgrandmother's name was Hattie Dahl Bennett. My grandma's siblings were; Rosa, Lena, Neva, Autumn, Gary, and Arnold. Any of these ring a bell with you. I know there was an Adelaide in there somewhere, maybe my great great grandmother. If so, all are buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Union City.

William md. (1) Nancy Huckston in 1769 in MD, by whom he had two children, William and Elizabeth. After Nancy died, William remarried and had several more children. Here is where confusion comes in: Various reports suggest that William md. Octavia/ Olivia Chears and/or Rachel Chears, and had between 6 and 13 more children. I am beginning to "suspicion" that Octavia, Olivia and Rachel are all the same woman! At any rate, my 5th great-grandmother is supposed to be one of William's children by CHEARS, her name being Margaret "Peggy" Bennett. I'm getting pretty desparate to find (a) the REAL name of William's second wife and (b) a complete and accurate list of his children by this second wife.
