On his marriage certificate he has recorded Peter Bennett as his father and Eva Ellen Ford as his mother. It’s possible that Peter wasn’t his real first name. We have supplied a photo of John Keith Maxwell BENNETT son of William Howard Bennett. John was born on 25 April 1923.

Conklin, NY 10/16/1901 died Johnson City, NY 11/02/1993. Married Anne Kunzel 1922. He worked in the Endicott-Johnson shoe factory and owned a cow farm in Maine, NY (bought in 1923). His father (I don't have parents' names) was a wallpaper hanger by occupation. I am confident his family was in the US before the Civil War. He lost one of his arms in a tractor accident and wore a hook until he died. Thanks for any info you have. Lauren

BENNETT. They were married 5 Jan 1888 in Ottawa, LaSalle, Illinois. I believe Charles was born c. 1859 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Charles was the son of Abel and Marie (STREETER) BENNETT. Margaret was born 17 Feb 1860 in Ottawa, Illinois and was the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth (CONNELL or O'CONNELL) CULLEN. Margaret died before 1933, but I don't know where. I would like to hear from any of Charles and Margaret's descendants. I will gladly swap information and pictures. I will be anxiously waiting to hear from someone! Sincerely, Angie

I know he had many brothers and sisters, but don't know their names. A couple of the siblings returned to Scotland to live. I have pictures of a family "camp" or lodge in the woods where they gathered for vacations, but I don't know exactly where it was or who all the cousins in the pictures are. Peter married Mary O'Leary and they had three children William (b. 1887), John (b. 1889) and May (b. 1891)

According to the 1840 Russell County, KY census, he was born about 1794 in VA, which means he could have been born in any number of states since VA in 1794 encompassed VA, WV, KY, etc. Charles was married to Mary Flanagan, daughter of John, born about 1798 in NC. They were married in Adair County, KY in 1823. If anyone can help me with this, I would truly appreciate it. Thanks. Linda
