Candy --- No more confused than I have been.. :) I think there were 2 John Chadwicks, one the husband of Hannah & the father of Elijah, and the other the father of John (grandfather of Elijah). Which John m. Hannah Bennett is not certain... nor do I understand how "John" (either one, if there were two) would have "died at Fishkill in 1777) and yet Elijah was "born at sea" in 1790 (presumably coming from England). If John was already here, then why was his son (or grandson) born at sea? I would love to have someone shed light on this puzzle, I haven't been able to figure it out! Hello everyone - I'm seeking info re: Hannah Bennett who married John Chadwick and they had a son, Elijah Chadwick who was born c. 1790 "on the sea" (possibly coming from England). John Chadwick died in Nov 1777 at "old Fishkill" (no state given, presumably in New England region). I have no other info on Hannah Bennett Chadwick at all. Would like to find her family / parents, anything: this line is one of my dead ends. Thanks for anything you might be able to offer.
