From the 1901 Census I have identified my grandfather (Thomas Daniel Bennett) and great-grandfather (Daniel Dawson Bennett). There are several Bennett families in the Liverpool area and many of them are related. If I come across any links with the family you mention I will let you know. I did quick check and there is a Mary Roughley, born in Liverpool but living in Widnes in 1901 about the right age and a Sarah Bennett aged 29 living in Walton on the Hill. Regards Dave Bennett

William Bennett (b 1849 or 1848 in our records) was the son of Jones Bennett and Susan. His brother was my great, great grandfather, John Romaldus Bennett. Perhaps the "R" you are looking for is the name handed down in the family with a story-Romaldus. We still have not made a break through in finding Jones' father but suspect we will find that part of the family on North Carolina and I am working to that end. Hope this helps. Melanie Bennett

Ok off the top of my head 'cause I don't have all this written down. Here is what I know. Inez May is my Great-Grandmother. All the names you listed are her brothers and sisters. It gets more confusing because my Grandmother (Dorothy, which is Inez's daughter) Dorothy's best friend Velma married Emery Masiker. So Velma ended up being my Grandmother's Aunt. Obviously Emery was older than Velma. The names that I remember hearing on your list are Malvern, Emmet, Emery, and Amey Daisy but they just called her Daisy. My Mom might know the other names. I am going to visit my Gram in March. I will take this list with me to see what she can remember. I guess we are cousins. Email me @ my yahoo addy instead of going through Ancestry. It might be easier.

Remember I told you I have the birthdates? When I was doing all this searching in December I found a web site that I believe I found most of the brothers but not the sisters because they would have a different last name. I believe it was a either s.s. or census or... I just don't remember. But I KNOW that one brother of my Daddy's , Emery lived in stockton, NY. And an other brother lived so close by my Daddy in Jacksonville, FL. The way I know they are his brothers is the list my parents made listed their birthdates. Inez May..Oct 20, 1900, Malvern Mable..Jan 23, 1902, Amey Daisy..Sept 14, 1903, Emmet Boyt.. My father was very private and I don't think he knew alot about his brothers and sisters be cause he was adopted as a baby to the Craig family. I will now list the brothers and sisters in order. Inez May, Malvern Mable, Amey Daisy, Emmet Boyt, Emery Avery, Myrtle Catherine, Della Irene, John William, Robert Harold Edward, (my Daddy) and Charles Franklin. Does any of this ring a bell. Walter: Do you know if your William Bennett had a brother, Henry Harrison Bennett (my grandfather) ? I know that HHB was born (according to his death certificate) in Hancock County, Virginia, which is now West Virginia. HHB married my grandmother, Beulah Kate Rogers (apparently his third or fourth wife) and they settled in Chambers County, AL. HHB's father was a William Bennett, but I have been unable to make any connections. There were obviously some bad vibes in this family (perhaps because of several wives??) that prevented any of the family from making contact with any of the others. I recently made contact with a cousin (who was descended from the third or fourth wife), and as we were beginning to make some inroads into some of our family members, she passed away, so we are back at the proverbial brick wall again. If you are connected, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. Don Williams Jacksonville, FL

Take a look in the collection, "Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia". Most of the genealogy libraries in the south have them. There are many "Bennett" descendants living in the Brunswick-Brunswick area. Also check the census records for Wayne, Glynn, and Brantley counties in Georgia. Good luck. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com [mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of elaitha8@aol.com Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 10:31 PM To: BENNETT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [BENNETT] Re: Bennetts of South East Georgia This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
