Frances Bolling Bland b 1752, the Mother of John Randolph of Roanoke These are all grandchildren of Thomas Bennett b 1570, Thomas and Ansti were my grands also. Richard served as gov of Virginia of the Virginia General Assembly, Maj -Gen of the Virginia Miltary Forces and was re-elected for three consecutive terms, 4-30-1652 He was sent to england to the house of Burgesses as commissioner. Returning to Virginia in 1658. He was re-elected to the council each year until his death. His daughter Anne Bennett was married to Theodorick Bland b 1626 England and the produced some well known Blands in American History. Philip Bennett b 1611, Wiveliscombe Eng. Generation no 2. MY BENNETTS Robert Bennett (John 1) was born 1533 in Wiveliscombe, Somerset , England and died Sept 1603 in England. He amrried Elizabeth Edney, daughter of John Edney. He was my grandfather, Robert was a tanner, listed as being wealthy. The birth dates listed for his children could be nonw or more yeras before their christening dates. Robert and Elizabeth are buried at the parish church in WEiveliscombe, Somerset, England. A lot of English history occurred in his life time but too lenghtly to print here, so here are the names of their children. Edward Bennett b 1577 Wiveliscombe, married Mary Bourne, he died in 1664. Richard was a business man of wealth and a pioneeer setteling settlers onto the shores of Virginia. He was merchant, owning a fleet of ships. I will type in the 3rd Gen tomorrow as it will get better and eventually down to my mom's mother who was a Bennett. We tie in at the 6th Generation with our GREAT Robertsons of whom I am richly kin on both side of my tree. For Bennett's out there that might possibly need this information and at the same time, I may find another new cousin ot two. John Bennett was born 1503 in Wiveliscombe, Somerset, England. His wife Margery ws born 1511, both died in 1564, this may be questionable for Margery's death date though. Notes for John ; The earliest known home of the Bennett family was ina little market town there in Wiveliscombe, about nine miles NW of Taunton, itcontained about 1500 people. The town properly pronounced Wilscombe, is ancient place. The church that now stands serves as a parish records place dateing back to 1558. The ancestors of this descention goes back to one or more barons of England and there is some more history to this but on with the descention of John. ******* Leroy Ellis Willie Esq is the source this descention and all of it is to his full credit, Leroy and I are three way cousins. Here is what little I know about my husband's fathers side. His father says that his mother was raped by a Choctaw Indian that lived on the reservation in Seminole, Oklahoma by a name of Buck WALKER. He never knew the man. But he does resemble the native american traits of black hair and high cheek bones, which he passed on to his children. His birth certificate shows only his mother's name. She was 25 years old when he was born and she was living in Conway County, AR. On the bottom portion of the birth certificate it has "Court Order" typed in next to Certificate of Attending Physician or midwife. It was signed by a physician. His father was raised by George Elda WILSON who was married his mother, Martha Ellen BENNETT. She is one of the daughter's of Allen E. BENNETT and Martha C. WILSON. The two WILSON lines are not supposed to be related to one another. He says that somehow they are suppose to be related to MIZELLE'S (multiple ways to spell it). A kind genealogy angel found them in the 1910 Census in Union Twp, Conway, AR BENNETT, Allen E.
