MY BENNETTS GEN # 10 Reuben Bennett b 29 Nov 1782 in St Stephens Parrish, Northumberland, Va, d 16 Dec 1838 in St Tammany's Parish, La. He married Sarah Sally Robertson in Jackson Co Ge on 14 Feb 1805. Sarah was the daughter of David Robertson b 1757 and Jane Headen Robertson. This was a great thing for me personally having the Robertsons for my Grandfathers, their son Willian Robertson married Elizabeth Bankston, MY grands, daughter of John Bankston Sr and Henrietta Coats Bankston, my grands, Their daughter Mildred became my grandmother married Robert M Cooper., Their son R W Cooper became my grand, his son Henry S. Cooper was my mom's father. He married Laura Emma Bennett, With Sarah on the other side of my tree, giving me Darrius Johnson Bennett b 1822, married Mary Headen in 1839, Sarah, his mother had to sign her permission for him to marry because of of his young age of 17. Jacob Core signed on as bond for him posting $ 100.00 for the marriage bond. Back to Reuben Bennett, he was a 1812 war vet pension # 88402, he was a land owner for serivces rendered and some more lands by purchase. I have several of his papers and a few of Sarah's. On my father's side, we have George Bennett, born in Nova Scotia in 1830. He married Mellissa and they had seven children: Ida M. Bennett, George Burton Bennett, Cyrus E., William H., Nellie E., Frances J., and Frederick H. Bennett. George Burton Bennett was born July 21, 1862, in Monmouth, Kennebec County, Maine. I don't know anything about his siblings other than approximate birth dates. He married Margaret Costello, and lived in Rochester, New York. They had a child, Roy Homer Bennett, who was my grandfather. I have several George Bennett's: George Patterson Bennett, b.1864(Adrian, MI, Howard City, MI, Detroit, MI, Rapid City, SD, Los Angeles, CA), George Thomas, b.1877(Ontario, Canada), George Tobias b.1889(Adrian, MI, Ontario, Canada), George T., b.1948(Howard City, MI, Rockford, MI, Silverlake, MI), all are descendants of Joseph Bennett, b.1767 in England.
