At that time Ezekiel Bishop's stone was in a creek. We did find what remains of a light colored stone in the creek but no writting. I found a broken stone with wife of Ezekiel Bishop, died Feb 14 1857, aged 75 yrs 1mo 13 days. I searched until I found the top, Silence. Of intrest to your posting I found some Bennetts and others. I could not read the dates off most but will be retuning in June better equiped now that I know where the cemetery is located. Ammariah Bennett Oliver Bennett Minanda w/o William Melissa dau of N + M Amos Mary C daughter of JH + HC Patterson died Feb 10th 1862 12 day Myron Amos/Karola These stones may fit into a couple families for me. We think Ezekiel and Silence are the parents of Stephen Bishop and a whole slew of other Bishops who are at the right places at the same times in PA and WI. Stephen married Lovinna Bennett and they are my GGGGrandparents. Seems that many of my family all came from within 5 miles of this cemetery. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the cemetery where Stephen and Lovinna are?

Husband's name, date of birth, location of birth, father's full name, mother's full name. From that, I can start searching census records. Do you know the religion of your husband's family? If they are Catholic, check the church records wherever your husband was baptised. The Church usually keeps familial records such as marriages, births, baptisms, and deaths. If you would rather not post your husband's information online, you can email me directly at [email protected] I will help in any way that I can. Mickey Roux

Surnames: Bennett, Marion, Janko Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BRD.2ACEB/6130 Message Board Post: Source: Bennett, William. "The Family Tree." Issue 8, Dec 1993 "MARY JANKO (1907-1986) -- Mary Janko and I grew up together. She is my cousin. Her mother was Albina Marion, the daughter of my Grandma Benett. Mary boarded with at Grandma's house. For as long as I knew her, Mary's mother lived in a room on Elm St. So we actually grew up together in the same house. We got along like borthers and sisters do. She was always running to my Grandmother complaining that I had gone into her room and had helped myself to some of her goodies. Poor grandma would scold me and ask me not to do that again. In her heart I think that my wise old gradmother may have thought that Mary was getting too chubby anyway. But we played together as children though she was three years older than I was. Being confined together in the same house made it easier for us to grow up like any brother or sister. How well I remember how Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Arthur would drive over to our house several evenings a week and take both Mary and me for a drive to Mas! sa Besic Lake. This was a great treat for Mary and I because it meant that I would be going to the refreshment stand and would have hot dogs and orange soda. Uncle Arthur was generous. Mary married a Polish fellow named Johnny Janko. Mary never really had a happy life with Johnny for the guy rarely ever worked. Except for the time when the horses were running at Rockingham track he never had a job. I went to Mary's funeral in 1986. Johnny was there but now he was also an alcoholic. I noticed at that funeral that there wasn't too many of us left. There is a soft place in my heart for Mary. She had a tough life and so had her mother Albina Marion. Two very lonely people. I felt so blessed by the Lord. I thought of those carefree days when we were growing up as kids. It was a sobering thought. During her last years we had fallen out of touch because I was no longer living in Manchester. We really never had a chance to talk about those old days when we were kids! . I see those years as wonderful times when neither of us had a care in the world."

    1. Lily Denton - Adopted? Died? Given Away?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BRD.2ACEB/6122 Message Board Post: Hello, I am searching for my Great-Grandmother's sister. Her name is Lily Denton. Her mother was Elizabeth Hannah Bennett married to Selvanus Beddard in 1884 had Selvanus Jr 1884, Ellen Elizabeth (my G-Grandma) 1886 and Daniel 1892. Selvanus Jr died in 1890 and Selvanus Sr. followed in 1893. Elizabeth Hannah Beddard then married John Henry Denton in 1893 in Wolverhampton. Lily was born in Pelsall, Staffs in 1899. I cannot find any information on a Lily Denton born in this place two years prior and two years after. She appears on the 1901 census with John Henry Denton as the head, her mother Elizabeth Denton, her sister Elizabeth Denton and her brother Daniel Denton. They all came to Canada around 1902-1907. There are rumors that Elizabeth Hannah Bennett/Beddard/Denton adopted a child. If so, is this the child? My biggest question, what happened to her? No one remembers a little girl when the family settled in Nova Scotia for a short while. I can find a few death! certificates for Lily Denton that could match, but likely don't as the age of death is off. Where did Lily go? What kind of stuff can you find out on an adoption 110 years old? Jessica Ross
