She was a widow, age 38, when she married my grandfather, Charles (Forbes) Macintosh in Toronto August 12, 1920. Her father was Roland Taylor from York, England. Evidently this was not a happy marriage, perhaps divorced shortly after. Charles became widowed in 1918, and my father went in to an orphanage shortly after. He was adopted by a foster family in 1924, losing contact with Charles. He never spoke of him to me. I'd like to put closure on the life of my grandfather. Thank you for any light you can shed on his fate. Sincerely, Jean, Calgary, Alberta Canada.
I would like to see a correction made for those who are interested in Nancy BENNETT, d/o of Perminter M. BENNETT & Sarah KELSO. Death certificates of some of their children show the name KELSEY and some say KELSO. Perminter and his wife moved to Greene Co MO from Cocke Co TN in 1844. At various times it has been said on this list their daughter Nancy moved back to Tennessee and married a SMITH, but that is not correct. Their daughter's information follows: Nancy Elizabeth BENNETT, b 28 Nov 1837 (per her death certificate); d 6 Jan 1917 Greene Co MO; buried 7 Jan 1917 in Yeakley Chapel Cemetery, Greene Co MO, which is the same cemetery in which her parents are buried. Nancy Elizabeth BENNETT m 1) 30 Apr 1857 Greene Co MO (bond B-115) to James Walker McSPADDEN who d between 1870-1876. They had two sons, James Bennett McSPADDEN & Thomas Matthew McSPADDEN. Then she m 2) to Isaac CLIFFORD 7 Aug 1877 in Greene Co MO (bond D-248). If you want to view her original death certificate, you may go to the Missouri Bureau of Vital Statistics at the site below. The death certificates of following siblings of Nancy can also be viewed: Margaret Richesin; Samuel Kelso BENNETT; Eliza Jane Redfearn; and William McSwain BENNETT. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/ordb.asp Imogene Bennett Springfield, MO [email protected]

My Bennett's start with Noah born 1810 in S. Carolina, and then my Great grandfather Joseph born 1838 in Arkansas. Had some others, from my maternal ancestry of all places, but born much earlier in Europe. If you can find a "meeting place", please let me know. I hate having run into a brick wall with Noah. I'm looking for information on Elisha Bennett, dates c.1790-1835. Possibly born in Belvoit, Va. area. I date to his son, Daniel Bennett, 1804. This family lived in what became Guilford County, SE part of the county near the Alamance County Line. (N.C.) Family may have attended The Brick Church in that area. Any information on this line would be appreciated.
