The only information i have about Elmers father is his name and where he lived last. He was called Franklin Bennett. I have pictures of him and my grandmother maude and it just says grandpa Bennett. I did find a post card he had written to her when she lived in Spokane wash with a return address of Long Beach Calif.

Hello all , Just joined the Bennett list. I have a double Bennett Line (1) Nancy Bennett b. 1776 m. John Hicks 1810 Brunswick Co Va. My 2nd line is William Bennett b. 1789 Nc , d MO. m. Jane Vanatte William & Jane had children Harrison , Eliza, Matilda, John M., William C, Bransford, Elizabeth H, Jane, Martha W, A. C. (Elison) , & Harriet. Children born mostly in TN moved to Mo & Ark. MOST people don't have my Eliza Bennett listed with this family, And I would like to right this. Robert Bennett Sr. STARKE-Robert Bennett Sr., 69, of Starke died Thursday, June 8, 2006, in the VA Hospital in Gainesville following a brief illness. Born in Columbia, Ala., on Jan. 8, 1937, Mr. Bennett moved to Starke from Lakeland. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was of the Christian faith. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Bennett is survived by: his wife, Janice Bennett of Starke; five sons, Christopher Bennett of Starke, Thaddeus Bennett of Arizona, Robert Bennett Jr., Winford Bennett and Wendell Bennett, all of Lakeland; a stepson, Esau Bright of Starke; four daughters, Nikita Slocum of Starke, Rose Wilson and Debra Copeland, both of Lakeland, and Angela Barnes of Tampa; three brothers, LaPaul Bennett of New York, Cleveland Bennett of Miami, and Tommy Bennett of Lakeland; five sisters, Joann Flowers, Pauline Lyons, Merleta Clayton, Beverly King and Lorraine Bennett, all of Lakeland; and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006, in True Vine Outreach Ministry Church in Starke with Elder Ross Chandler, pastor, and Eldress Sylvia Jefferson. Interment will follow in Peetsville Memorial Cemetery in Lawtey under the care of Haile Funeral Home Inc. of Starke. Visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2006, family hour from 4-5 p.m., friends, from 5- 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. The family will meet at the home of Robert Bennett, 501 Old Lawtey Road in Starke at 10:30 a.m. Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are. This is here as a lasting memorial for Mr. Bennett.
