Thanks for the information. According to information I have received from my family, William, b. 1839, TN was the son of MOSES BELCHER, b. 1811. He lived in Pope County, IL and married Sarah Ford. Information via the internet has MOSES, b. 1811 the son of ISHAM BELCHER II, b. 1769. However, I have been unable to prove anything to this point. William C. Belcher was in the Civil War and I have a copy of both his military records and his pension records which were paid to his wife and children after his death. In one of the sworn testimonies, the man testifies that "William thought he was dying and he asked him to write to his 'brothers' and have them come get him so he could die at home." The information on the internet does not have any siblings for William Carrol Belcher and I have no documentation as to who volunteered the info. If I can find documentation, I can take this line back to HUGH BELCHER, b. 1450. Thanks for your help. Judy Smith, jcsearch@rdr.net
