There is at least two close to the same time frame that might be confused for each other. The Richard Belcher with Talley connection is also from the Carson line and there is a book called Our Carson and Kindred Families by Mary Frances McKee Crain,Goodlettsville Tn 1986. I have several pages of info from this book sent to me by Mary E. Talley of McMinnville Tn several years ago.quoting from page 87,it states in his will Richard mentions six children by my last wife. Lively,Martha,William,Ulsey,Jacob and Richard. Mary Talley says this Richard listed as a child is Richard G . Marriage records of Amelia co Va prove that Richard Belcher married Ulsey martin June 3,1787.(another recording says Ulsey Hastin) The other Richard is born Alabama or Tn. This Richard is is my 4th great grandfather and he was born 1823. He was married in Warren co Tn according to a widow app for civil war pension to Matilda Capshaw. They went to Pope co Ill and lived there about 9 years and then went ot Douglas co Mo. I believe it is possible that my Richard is a brother to Wm Carroll Belcher . I also believe that my Richard's family might have lived in DeKalb co Tn but I have not researched that area yet. Sorry I didn't see the info sooner about Richard.
