    1. [BELCHER] BELCHERS TO MO WITHOUT A FATHER??
    2. Phyl Schiwal
    3. IVAN AND ANNA AND JOE PRICE Did this father John also have a son Harvey Belcher b 1820 KY (or VA) who moved to MO and married 13 Sep 1841 Susan Williams ? I have a married Henry Belcher in the 1850 Census married to Susan living in her parents' household in Mercer Co, MO. Each family has a bunch of kids. It must have been a busy place!!! But, I believe this same Henry to be the Harvey above who was also employed by the US Govt in 1848 to be a Presidential Judge for the national election. For his employment with the govt he was Harvey. I'm just wondering if this Harvey/Henry is a son to your John and a brother to your William Henry. Thanx. Phyl OR, SHOULD I DIRECT THIS TO IVAN BELOW????????? NEVER HAVING BEEN ABLE TO FIND A FATHER TO MY HARVEY BELCHER, I'VE BEEN GRASPING AT STRAWS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Your story below about Belchers who went to MO without a father - Father Unknown - isn't exactly what I was looking for, but may be closer to the truth than I wanted to find. Of course, I wanted a father for my Harvey, but maybe that's why I haven't been able to find one. I'd certainly be happy to know his mom, though. That now possibly gives half the parents . . . . Did either of these two Wm. Henry Belchers have a father, grandfather or uncle possibly named Wm. H. Belcher? My Wm. H. was born 20 Feb 1819 in Madison County KY; d. 4 June 1897 in Boone Co. MO. His mother was Nancy WINN BELCHER, father unknown. Evidently Wm. H. & Nancy came to Missouri about 1834 with her family, James and Nancy Agnes Johnson WINN. Now, I've got to ask if anyone has an 1840 Census Boone County with mother Nancy having a son who'd be 19?? It's not inconceivable that by 1841 Harvey could have made his way from Boone County to Grundy County and Mercer County in the next two years looking for work and finding a bride and staying there. Now, this is another avenue to search. Thanx. Any help and comments would be great? Please?? They are identified as Maj. Glenn A Belcher, of Fessendon, N.D. On Dec. 31, 1967, Belcher was leading an armed reconnaissance mission over Laos when others in his flight observed the A-1E Skyraider roll several times before striking the ground near an enemy gun position. A search of the area revealed no evidence to demonstrate that Belcher had survived the crash. In 1994 and 1995, joint U.S.-Lao teams investigated a suspected crash site believed to be that of Belcher. The teams recovered several bone fragments, some personal effects, pilot related artifacts, and aircraft wreckage. The remains were subsequently identified as Belcher's.
