Does anybody out there have any info on my great grandparents, Simon & Celia Belcher? Simon was born 1831, Claiborne County, Tn. and Celia was also born in Tennessee. I think her maiden name may have been Testerman. I found a Sialah(Celia)Testerman on one of the Gen Forums that married a Simon Belcher. This has to be my great grandparents. They lived in Blackwater, Va.(Lee County). One of their sons, McClelan Belcher, born 1866, Lee County, Va. was my grandfather. I think Simon may be the grandchild of Bartlett and Alice Lawson Belcher. Simon's birth is listed on Bartlett's Rev. War Pension Application. Any info appreciated. Seeking information on my 3rd great grandmother Kesiah Belcher born in Georgia around 1800 and married Samuel W. Wells on November 27, 1822 in Amite County Mississippi. They lived in Marshall County in 1850 and she lived in Lafayette County Mississippi with her son Isaac in 1870. I would like any information that anyone might have on her. Hi List, I heard that Enoch Belcher b. 4-17-1853 in KY m. to Lousia Belcher It is believed that John "Westley" Belcher b. 1815 m. to Anna Moore b. 1815 in VA is not Enochs father ? I heard there is a lot of different opinions on this. I'd like to hear them. It is said that Anna came back to KY after separating in VA with John and that John was supposed to have been married to another woman at the time Enoch was born. (although no record of this marriage is to be found) It was also said that Enoch has no father listed on his birth record. Enoch is my 2nd GGrandpa. I've asked around in the family and was told by a few that he was a Mullins !!!! So I have no doubt that he was a Mullins. Now my question is who is his Dad. The story goes that Enoch named his first son Booker. I know from another line of mine there is a Booker Mullins which would of been at the right time frame for all this. Nobody seem to know his fathers first name. I sure would like to know if it is Booker or not. I welcome any and all comment on this !!! I'm also going to ask my Mullins cousins if they know anything about this. Will the real Isham Belcher please stand up? Can anyone identify which one of the many Isham Belchers was in Green County, KY in the early 1800s. There is a marriage bond listed in Green County, KY for Belcher, Isham and Betsy McDaniel, Sept. 14, 1808...consent of John McDaniel. [Betsy McDaniel, wts. to his note.] Was this the Isham Belcher that came over the mountain written about in "Over the Mountain Men"? Was this Isham Belcher one of the long hunters that came into KY with the Skaggs party? Did this Isham stay in KY, return to VA, or move westward? Any and all help appreciated. Thanks, Juanita
