    3. Susan, I think you misunderstood the purpose of the zip code on the GLO homepage. You simply enter YOUR zip code to get into the query page. They probably use it to do statistics on who is using the database. (The explanation next to the zip code says "for demographic purposes".) Once you're in the query page you can search any of the several states covered by the database. I tried to get a listing of all Clermont Co, OH land patents and it came up with nothing -- there do not appear to be any in the database. The number of patents in Hamilton Co, OH was only about a dozen or so.
