Fellow Behymer researchers: I have just posted a fairly significant update to my web page. Point your browser to: http://members.home.net/johntippet/ The changes from the prior version (all in the census section) are the following: (1) I have transcribed and added a lot of the Behymer census enumerations for the years 1810 and 1850. I plan to add more in the future, as well as for the years, 1860, 1870 and 1880. (2) I did a lot of checking of census indices through the Ancestry.com web site, and found, a few new entries that I was not aware of, two of which I was very excited about: Nathaniel Beckelhamer in Brown County, OH for the year 1840 and Elijah B Hymer in Sangamon County, IL also in 1840. For the latter, I have yet to look up the actual census enumeration, but I did for Nathaniel. Other additions come from the census index search - if blank, in the listing, it means that I have yet to look them up. (3) I have added quite significantly to the 1820, 1830 and 1840 census enumeration sections of my web page. I spent a lot of time proof-reading the census entries for 1820, 1830 and 1840 and did correct a few errors. Those that changed slightly were for Chapman Archer, Christian Custer, Samuel Bhymer (p. 38), Abraham Becklehimer and Isaac Becklehimer, all for 1820; Samuel Beckelhimer? (p. 79), Jacob B. Hymer (Campbell County, KY), Samuel B. Hymer (p. 216), Joseph Windsor, Christian Custard, William B. Hymer (p. 2320), all for 1830; and Simeon Becklehamer, Solomon Behymer (p. 222), Samuel Lazena, John? Lazena, all for 1840. Also there were several additions. (4) FYI: the entries for the 1810 census for Solomon Pickelsimer and the 1820 census for Susanna Picklesimer differ from what John Wayne and John Walter Picklesimer indicate in their book, but they are correct (again, an outcome of the laborious proof-reading process). (5) There are several Behymers listed in the 1840 censuses that I do not have in my database. If you have information on the following, please contact me: Solomon Behymer (LaPorte Co, IN), Jesse Bicklehymer (Putnam Co, IN), Michael B. Hymer, Jr (Clermont Co, OH), Isaac Becklehimer (Cabell Co, VA), John Pickelsemon (Franklin Co, VA), and John Bickelhimer (Pulaski Co, VA). I welcome comments, corrections, additions, etc. on this endeavor. John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com
