Since you sure are not close to SLC..LDS, you usually can rent the census reports from any library. They will charge you a short fee for same and you will have view the tape at the library. When you order the tape, ask for a soundex tape, and they will help you fill out the order. If you know for sure he was in Putnam, IN, then get the Putnam, IN census for ..... whatever year you want. Better yet, if you have a Latter Day "Morman Church" in your area, ask if they have a genealogy department there. Most of the branches of this church in Los Angeles, do have a section where you can order films from Salt Lake City. If you have any problems, let me know, and I will inquire out here where you could go...Let me know your home town tho.
