I had written a few days ago wanting to know if there was a connection between the David & Abraham Picklesimer in KY and the David & Abraham Pickelsimer in NC. I had not looked in a small book I have that was written by Dr. Dewey Pickelsimer. I had thought it was written in the early '60's, but I noticed on the cover that the book, titled "Historical Outline: The Pickelsimer Family" was written August, 1969. My daddy had received a copy of the book at the Pickelsimer Family Reunion of that year. It was actually written about the descendants of David Pickelsimer, Sr. of NC. I had failed to notice some information near the back of the book that was about the Kentucky branch of Pickelsimers. I will type it here exactly as it is written in the book by Dewey Pickelsimer. .............................................................................. We are happy to include in this family history, under the division of "Distant Relatives", this most interesting and informative geneological sketch of an entirely different branch of the Pickelsimer family in America, contributed by a Dr. F.M. Pickelsimer of Paintsville, KY. Dr. Pickelsimer was born on Nov. 17, 1899, about a year and a half after the writer was born. These two (Dr. F.M. Pickelsimer and Dr. Dewey W. Pickelsimer), as stated elsewhere, were students in different institutions in Louisville, KY at the same time in the late twenties. But, they did not meet until some 30 or 35 years later. This sketch covers nine generations. But only one person from each generation is listed in order to show Dr. F.M. Pickelsimer's lineage from the first generation to the present. However, when we come to Dr. F.M. Pickelsimer, Sr., all the members of each succeeding generation are listed. 1st Gen.: Dr. Jacob Pickelsimer migrated from Germany to the United States in 1727, and settled in Johnson County, KY, which at that time was part of Virginia. He was the father of 17 children. 2nd Gen.: Abraham Pickelsimer, Sr. 3rd Gen.: Abraham Pickelsimer, Jr. 4th Gen.: Dr. Nathaniel Pickelsimer who m. Loreana Williams 5th Gen.: Dr. Francis Marion Pickelsimer who first married Minerva Bayes, and later married Jenny Sublett. 6th Gen.: Calen Alvis Pickelsimer, born March 1874, died Aug. 1948. Married 1st: Elizabeth Wells. Later m. 2nd: Laura Crider 7th Gen.: Dr. Frank Marion (F.M.) Pickelsimer, Sr. born Nov. 17, 1899. First married Thelma Becker, later married Jessie Doss. 8th Gen.: Children of Dr. F.M. Pickelsimer, Sr: F.M. Pickelsimer, Jr. born June 4, 1926 and Betty Lou Lundgreen, born 6 Dec 1958 9th Gen.: Dr. F. M. Pickelsimer,I has six grandchildren: (a) Frank Pickelsimer,II married Linda (Stone) Pickelsimer (she is deceased). He has four children: Frank,III born Nov.23, 1952; Stephena Stone, born Sept. 1, 1955; Bradley Harrison, born Mar. 15, 1957; and Elizabeth Ann, born Feb. 5, 1959. Betty Lou (Pickelsimer) Lundgreen has two children: Sharon Thelma Lundgreen, b. Dec. 6, 1958 Kimberly Lynn Lundgreen, b. Mar. 18, 1960 (I typed this information exactly as it was printed in the book. If you notice on 8th Gen. the date of Betty Lou Lundgreen is the same as one of her daughters in 9th Gen. Evidently there was a typographical error. I think the date for Betty Lou was probably about 1928.)
