    3. Behymers: I have just returned from a four day trip to the LDS genealogical library in Salt Lake City. While there, I made IMHO, a most important discovery related to Behymer research. I think this will be hard to top, and I was flabbergasted with the find and want to share it with all of you. I have previously posted to the Behymer page, some index cards that were transcribed form the early LDS church records for Jonathan Beckelshymer and his wife, Susanna (Kinsey) Beckelshymer. At the library, I was able to find some of the original source material from which these index cards were transcribed. The source material comes from the Nauvoo Temple Baptisms for the Dead, which is in 4 volumes (A through D) covering the period from 1840 to 1845. They contain lists of relatives of the church members no longer living that were baptized via proxy through the church member, in our case, Jonathan and Susanna Beckelshymer. It turns out there was quite a bit of additional material over and above what was contained in the index cards that I had found, due, I suspect, to the variations in the way the name, Beckelshymer was spelled, i.e., Behymer, etc. Following is what is contained for Jonathan and Susanna (items difficult to read are followed by a question mark): Book A (1840 -1845) - microfilm number 0183376 p. 9 Jonathan Beckelshymer, son of John Beckelshymer p. 10 Enoch Behymer, brother of Jonathan Behymer p. 11 Jonathan Beckelshymer, son of Elizabeth Beckelshymer p. 15 Jonathan Becklehamer, great grandson of great grandfather Becklehamer p. 15 Jonathan Becklehamer, great grandson of great grandmother Becklehamer p. 18 Susan Behymer, daughter of father Behymer p. 18 Susan Behymer, granddaughter of grandmother Behymer p. 18 Jonathan Behymer, grandson of grandmother Behymer p. 30 Susannah Becklehimer, niece of Jacob Dillman p. 30 Susannah Becklehimer, niece of Margaret Dillman p. 31 Susannah Behymer, cousin of Daniel Dillman p. 31 Susannah Behymer, cousin of Michael Dillman p. 31 Susannah Behymer, cousin of Mary Dillman p. 42 Jonathan Behimer, uncle of Margaret Epard p. 91, Susannah Bickelhammer, daughter of Jacob Kinzey p. 91 Susannah Behimer, niece of Henry Kinzey p. 92 Susanna Becklehimer, niece of John Kinsey p. 92 Susanna Becklehimer, cousin of John Kinsey p. 92 Susanna Becklehimer, granddaughter of <unreadable> Kinzey p. 93 Susan Behymer, niece of Eve Kinsey p. 94 Susanna Behymer, aunt of Rebecca Kinzey p. 96 Susannah Behymer, granddaughter of grandmother Kinsey p. 96 Susanna Behimer, great granddaughter of great grandfather Kinzy p. 96 Susanna Behimer, great granddaughter of great grandmother Kinzy p. 99 Susannah Becklehimer, niece of Elizabeth Lemon p. 100 Susan Behymer, granddaughter of George Lemon p. 100 Susan Behymer, granddaughter of Sarah Lemon p. 118 Susanna Behimer, cousin of David Lemon p. 118 Susanna Behimer, great granddaughter of great grandfather Lemons p. 118 Susanna Behimer, great granddaughter of great grandmother Lemons p. 133 Susanna Behimer, sister-in-law of Joseph Overholts p. 138 Jonathan Becklehimer, grandson of grandmother Rinker p. 138 Jonathan Becklehimer, cousin of John Rinker p. 138 Jonathan Becklehimer, cousin of Jonathan Rinker p. 138 Jonathan Becklehimer, cousin of George Rinker p. 139 Jonathan Behymer, grandson of grandfather Rinker p. 141 Susanna Behymer, sister of Elizabeth Reed p. 177 Susannah Behymer. cousin of Hannah Wimmer p. 178 Jonathan Behymer, nephew of George Wrinkle (or Winkle?) p. 184 Susanna Behimer, grandniece or greatniece? of Andrew Young p. 184 Susanna Behimer, grandniece or greatniece? of Eppiderly? I have yet to digest it all (and do my taxes), but I wanted to get this information distributed to you all as quickly as possible. Let me know what you think of this little gem. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com P. S.: I believe there yet may be more to be mined out of the Nauvoo Temple records, as the index cards indicated that Jonathan and Susannah were born in Franklin County, MD. I ran out of time, and was unable to find the original source for that piece of data. I also have some more new information to share, which will be the subject of a future posting.
