    3. John: This Margaret E. Holmes who m. John Beckelhymer was from Perry Twp., Lawrence Co., IN. Her parents were John and Sarah Scott Holmes. Siblings of Margaret E. were Mary Holmes Beckelshymer wife of Benjamin Beckelshymer, Jane Holmes Blair, Nancy Holmes Myers, Samuel A. Holmes, Thomas J. Holmes, Joseph H. Holmes, John Quincy Holmes, Hugh Allen Holmes, Sally A. Holmes Cooper, all in Fulton Co., IL and William B. Holmes in Brown Co., IN. There is a deed in Lawrence Co., IN which shows Thomas J. Holmes and Joseph H. Holmes purchasing land from a John Beckelshymer 4 Feb 1842. I still don't know the parents of John B. who m. Margaret E. Holmes. I know you weren't looking for Holmes, but it might offer a clue somewhere.
