Krefeld is located on the Rhine River, in the northern section of Rhineland province, not too far from Netherland/Belguim border. It is spelled with a K, not a C. Aaron Behymer of Clermont Co, OH, is the one who said they lived on the Rhine River, in C(K)refeld, before coming to America. According to the Brethren group, this is one of the locations they gave also. It is not known as yet, that any of the children were born there tho. Would need to do further investigation in the area of Germany. It is my understanding that due to the religious problems, this was one of the area some of the Germans went to, before getting transportation out of Germany. According to some information handed to us was that Abraham Lausche, husband of Margaret, came from Krefeld also. It also said the children of Abraham and Margaret were the same as her father's family. If so, where does George come in? JOHAN, according to German history, would have been a saints name taken, and they actually went by the middle name which was their given name. As to where the other Bectlehimers were born, if we know exactly when Johan Bectelhimer came to the States, and when were the children born, would indicate a possible place of birth. I know it is said Johan came over in the ship Mortenhouse in 1728, but the Mennonites claim him as their forefather living in Berks Co, PA. I don't want to sound too negative, but we really need to stick to facts that we have and do more research. Thanks John for your latest research. Sallye
