Fellow Behymers: Since it has been so quiet on this list recently, I thought I would stir things up a little bit. We now have proof that Abraham Behymer was a brother of Jonathan Behymer, and that this Abraham had died prior to about 1845 when his brother, Jonathan had him baptized, based on the Mormon Baptisms for the Dead at the Nauvoo Temple. From the same source, we know that Jonathan had an uncle, also named Abraham. The latter would have been Abraham, Sr who shows up in the early Virginia records. Now, unless there was yet a third Abraham who died young, leaving no trace, then I believe that the other Abraham who shows up in the early Virginia records, i.e., Abraham, Jr who married Mary (Polly) Kingery was, in fact, Jonathan's brother. He died circa 25 May 1822, so that fits the above. His birth date (circa 1772) also fits in nicely between his sister, Anne and brother, Nathaniel. It is curious, however, that there was no mention of him in the Aaron S. Behymer diary or the Behymer newspaper article that appeard in the Clermont Courier, circa 1893. John Walter and John Wayne Picklesimer imply in their book, "The Picklesimers of Eastern Kentucky" that there was some evidence to suggest that Abraham, Sr was the father of Abraham, Jr. Perhaps they could elaborate on what this might be.
