Merle: Way to go Merle! That is really good news regarding John Gray (both the census information and land transactions). BTW: was there a female enumerated in the household old enough to have been Esther? As far as Chapman, Aaron and Henry are concerned, I had already found them in the 1840 census. They are in fact included on my web page under the census section. I had not gotten around to looking up the France's yet, however. Now that I know that John Gray, Esther's second husband, may have moved to Fulton, I checked the Ancestry.com census index and found the following: 1835, John Gray, Fulton County, IL State census, p. 28 1840, John Gray, Fulton County, IL State census, p. 67 1840, John Gray, Fulton County, IL Federal census, p. 373 1860, John Gray, Fulton County, IL, Federal census, p. 108 There may be some clues here. Keep up the good work... John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com P.S. There is another "Behymer loose end" that I plan on adding as a place-holder child of Levi on my next web page update: Bev Elmshauser's Cassander Behymer (b. circa 1810 in OH) who married Elijah Ward in Anderson township, Hamilton County, OH in 1829. Also, we should all be trying to figure out how Rob Dupuy's Mercer County, OH Behymers fit into this puzzle. -----Original Message----- From: Merle Saunders <saundman@essex1.com> To: BEHYMER-L@rootsweb.com <BEHYMER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, May 16, 1999 8:49 PM Subject: Re: Fulton County Behymer Loose Ends >Hello John and All, > Last week I had the chance to look again at the 1840 Census of Fulton >County, Illinois and while going on some ideas that I got from you and some of >the others, I found some things that I hadn't noticed before: In Pleasant Twp., >I found C.
