MARRIAGES OF WHITE, WAYNE, RICHLAND COS, IL. JOHN'S middle name thought to be Lewis I believe you will need to do a 1860 and up census on Robert Gordon. or do a soundex census in 1880. Most of the information on this entire family was researched by a Ruth Burdge and Polly Harpster in the 1980's. Due to their age I doubt either one is alive today. I haven't heard from them since late 1980's. As to a Moses being a child, I do not know. It is most likely they had a child between 1832 and 1837, given to the fact Jane had a child every 2 years. Might have died in infancy tho. I would assume if that was true, it would have been in Ripley Co, IN. Incidently, since you have the names of the children of Robert and Ann Gordon, you can also do a census report on them say by 1865-70. Hope this gives you a bit more information to work on.
