I would like to post some of my Hymer connections hoping it may amplify some information that other readers of the list may have. Like so may others, I descend through Johan George Beckelhymer, then Abraham, then Daniel. After that Daniel's son Samuel B. Hymer (b. ard. 1783) married Lydia Logsdon on 11 Jan. 1811 in Madison Co., Ky. Their son William B. Hymer was born Jan. 1825 in Estill Co., Ky. William B. Hymer married Ann Cox on 1 Sep. 1849. Ann Cox was the daughter of Charles Cox and Frances Murphy. She had earlier been married to a man named Reynolds. William B. Hymer died on 16 Aug. 1903 in Hunt Co., Texas. Ann Cox had evidently died some years before because William married a widow named Mary Catherine Adams Parsons, widow of Joseph Parsons. They were married on 30 Aug., 1886 in Jackson Co., Ky. Their son Joseph Edmond Hymer was born in 1887. The 1860 Estill County census shows that William B. Hymer and Ann had three young girls in their household: Lydia, age 6; Merideth, age 5; and Sarah, age 3. These girls do not show up in the 1870 census in this household. However the 1860 census also shows that Charles and Frances Cox were also living in the household, as well as Ancil Cox and his wife (Ancil Cox was a grandson or grandnephew of Charles Cox). Perhaps these girls were their children. Born to William B. Hymer and Ann Cox: 1. Josephine, b. ca. 1863, married John L. Talbott on 26 Dec., 1878, unknown when she died. 2. Margaret A., b. ca. 1866, married David Marcum on 8 Sep. 1890 in Jackson Co., Ky, unknown when she died. 3. Lucinda, b. 18 Oct. 1868, married Wm. R. Miller on 17 Jan. 1884 (this marriage annuled); married William S. Parsons 25 Nov. 1886 in Estill Co.; died in Hunt Co. Texas on 12 Sep. 1895. 4. Elijah Bequel Hymer, b. 1871 in Estill Co. He was my great-grandfather and married my great-grandmother, Sadie Elmina Wright on 3 May 1891 in Runnels Co. Texas.
