    3. Linda: There is some controversy regarding whether Solomon (and a few of his brothers) were the son of John Behymer, Sr who married Elizabeth Rinker, or if they were the son of John Sr's son, John Behymer, Jr who married Barbara Weddle. I am leaning towards John, Sr, and that is how I have it recorded in the descendancy narrative, however, it is a close call. Per the Clermont Courier newspaper article of 1 Feb 1893, it says that all nine brothers were the son of John, presumably, John, Sr. In one of the Evert's versions, Solomon could be interpreted as the son of John, Jr - in the other Evert's version, he could be the son of John, Sr. The two Evert's versions as well as the Clermont Courier newspapar article are all posted on the web site. Read them carefully, and then form your own opinion. As far as the Sarah A who Tom shows as the wife of John, Jr. I am of the strong opinion, that the DAR researchers read the tombstone wrong (it was probably very faded) when they recorded: John Behymer and his wife, Sarah A, together with foot stones reading J B and B B. If you think about it, Barbara and SarahA look pretty similar - both have consonants with the letter a in between. The formation of the letters B and S are similar, as well as the lower case r and h. There are also many sources that indicate John's wife, Barbara, and none that I know of that indicate a Sarah A. What do others think?
