Barb: In a deed dated 11 Jun 1850, Samuel Fishburn, administrator of the Will of Melcher Waggoner, deceased, sells 236 acres of land on the waters of Chestnut Creek (all the lands belonging to the estate of Melcher Waggoner in Franklin County) to Willis Tinsley for $275. Jacob Fishburn, the executor of the will of Melcher Waggoner having died before the will was admitted to probate, Samuel Fishburn was appointed administrator. One acre of the said tract of land (including the family grave yard) was specifically exluded from the transaction. As you live in Franklin County, could you check around and see if there would be any possibility of locating this family cemetery? Perhaps the Franklin County Historical Society keeps records on the cemeteries in the county. On another matter, the LDS church does not seem to have any church records for Franklin County, VA. I don't know if this is because, they just haven't filmed them, or that they just plain don't exist. Do you know if there are any early church records that might have some pertinent genealogical data? John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com
