Here's the note from Steve Beckelhimer again: Deanna The one born in 1931 is my father but I don't know the one born in 1902. My grandfather didn't live until 1983 although I really don't know the date of death. I need to go to the county courthouse in a week or so to resolve some matters of a recently deceased maternal aunt. I'll check on some paternal relatives and pass the information along to you. PS. I don't think that my father nor grandfather had a middle name but I am not sure. Steve
Twila, I haven't had any and I posted to the list yesterday and today. Deanna
Here's the note I got from Steve this morning about the SS death index listings. Deanna

To John Tippet, Thanks for adding Henry Behymer to the Civil War page at your web site. Kathy Graham Friend
Helen, I found your message interesting. I had recently corresponded with a lady who was descended from George W. BEHYMER's son Harry. I am descended from Lewis BEHYMER, brother of George W. Someone sent me info saying George and Laurena were married in Clermont Co., OH on May 16, 1867. I have her mother's name as "Susan", father only as ? Abbott. Not sure if this is the right one, but on the Ohio Death Certificate Index on-line, I found "Luranah Behymer d. 20 Feb 1922 Hamilton Co., OH cert.# 9325 vol.# 3803". Could not find record of George's death on this index or in KY. Linda

Deb & Dave, Thanks on the information you set forth Feb 13 re Michael Weddle. Calvin Weddle and I have worked several years on this, my finding his information on Benjamin Weddel, brother to Barbara Weddle Becklehymer/Behymer. I have maintained that we had the wrong Michael due to the land warrant dated 1739.May.29. I could not believe he could not gotten over here before he obtained that warrant. I am now forwarding a copy of research done by Calvin Weddle in Germany. I will try to type it exactly as he received it, and later forwarded a photocopy to me. ============================================================ Letter from Dr. Martin Jordan, of Heidelberg, Germany. ============================================================ Dr. Martin Jordan D 69121 Heidelberg, 19.9.1994 Klein Lobingsgasse 7 Tel. 06221-412287 Mr. Calvin Weddle 1900 E. As you see from these excerpts the parishioner was not too exact with his notes. There are children who died without their baptism beeing registered, deaths of children often were not noted - there were so many! The Hans Martin Wedel you found in the Handschuhsheim register probably followed his brother, who died within a years time. Now the question of emigration. The Michael Wedel, listed in Hacker's emigration list, possibly tried to emigrate illegally and succeeded. Of all his family there are no deaths and marriages registered in Dossenheim with the possible exception of the youngest daughter whose filiation is doubtful. If she was his daughter, he was still in Dossenheim as late as 1733, to have her death registered there, if not, the latest registered date is 1725, prior to his request for legal emigration. What sources could you follow up on your side of the ocean? Are there shipping lists? A relative of my son in law found his ancestors gravestone with an inscription naming his home town in Germany, but that is probably a rare luck. A possible source of information could be the "Grundbucher" of Dossenheim, where sales of houses and fields were registered, but I do not know, whether they still exist, if they are at the Burgermeisteramt at Dossenheim or at the State archive at Karlsruhe. In any case, a search in them would take a lot of time (Address would be: Gemeinde- verwaltung, Rathausplatz 1, D69221 Dossenheim. Wishing that my notes will be a help to you I am, Yours truly, Dr. M. Jordan ======================================================= Please...anyone...any comments on this. Any suggestions other than to find entry to USA. I did find Georg Adam Wedel entry, but nothing other than that. He could also have gone to another country and then over here, but I would guess he landed at Philadelphia as that is where he obtained a land grant/warrant. I still believe this is the Michael that lived in York Co, PA...and the rest of the information is correct. If any of you would like a copy of the original letter, let me know and I will forward reg mail to you. Incidently Calvin was a descendant of Benjamin, and I am descended from Barbara. Hi John, I always enjoy your website and updates. I was looking at Samuel Behymer, b. 24 Dec 1809, married to Sarah Ward. I have some info on their children and descendants, if you would like me to send it to you. Lewis, their son, was married to Hester Woods, these (I'm pretty sure) are my grgrgrandparents. Let me know if you would like it, it may help when you get ready to add the next generation. Linda
I just posted a major update to my web page today. Point your browser to: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/JohnDoeTippet Included in the update is: (1) Transcriptions of 3 more wills - Jacob Behymer, William Robb and Henry Slingluff (2) A new page for Behymers in the military - currently posted are some Behymers who served in the War of 1812 and the Civil War (3) A new page of Behymer Census Returns - currently posted are the 1820, 1830 and 1840 census returns for many Behymers I am working on posting the Behymer marriages to the web, but that will have to wait for another weekend. If you are aware of any Behymers who served in either of the Wars indicated above, let me know and I will add your information to my web page. Likewise, if you have 1820, 1830 or 1840 census data that is not included, let me know and I will add that as well. Finally, I have not proof-read the census data that I posted thoroughly, as yet, so there may be some errors. If you see anything that looks wrong, let me know. Regards...
