Hello to all my new found relatives on the Behymer list. I am Pam MacRae of Reno, NV. I have been working on my family genealogy for almost 30 years. I went to a family reunion and didn't know but a handfull of people; however, all 200 people were related to me. That's what got me going... My mother is the Bechtelheimer in the family. She is Betty Jane Bechtelheimer [b.1920] of Veedersburg, IN. (Fountain County, IN) My grandfather is Vernon Dallas Bechtelheimer [b.1900]m. Marjorie Marie Bouse [b.1902]. My great grandfather is Delano Victor Bechtelheimer (Wabash County, IN)[b.1880] son of Samuel J. Bechtelheimer of Kosciusko County, IN [b.1859]. My 3rd great grandfather is Simeon Bechtelheimer [b.1819] son of Samuel Houstings Bechtelheimer [b. 1794] who is the son of Joseph Bechtelheimer [b.1770] who married Christina Lazena [b.1768]. You know the rest of the story. Thanks to everyone who has participated in this list, I have received more information in the past 6 months than I have gotten in the past six years. Thank you all. Hello, I'm still here, though haven't been putting anything on the list lately. Been too busy with kids, "March Madness", sorting through my notes, entering things in my Family Tree program, etc. I am Linda Adkinson, of Indiana, born in Cincinnati but lived across the river in Campbell Co., KY, until I was 8. Most of my relatives are from the Campbell Co. area (MARTIN, DANIEL, WOLF, OETZEL, SCHNORR, MESSINGSCHLAGER). My paternal great grandfather, WILLIAM BEHYMER, descended from Lewis and Hester (WOODS) BEHYMER, Samuel P. and Sarah (WARD) BEHYMER, Solomon and Mary (WEBB) BECKELHYMER, and I think John and Elizabeth (RINKER) BECKELHYMER. William married Matilda "Tillie" MARTIN of Campbell Co. KY in 1880, they resided in Clermont Co., OH and had 8-10 children. I am so grateful to all the members on the list who have supplied me with a wealth of information and tips. Thanks to you all! Linda
Beverly: I looked at your website and your husband's ancestors were Beymers. I believe there are a couple Beymer researchers on this list, however, the Beymer name is not one of the variations of the Becklehymer/Behymer/etc. surnames that are regularly discussed on this list. I'm not saying that to discourage you. In fact, you Beymers out there, speak up, so that you can connect with one another! Several new members have subscribed to the list in the past few weeks, so how about a check-in so that we can stay in touch and learn what lines are being researched? It doesn't have to be a huge task, just a brief statement of who you are and who you descended from, something like this: I'm Twila from the Oregon Coast, home of the recent New Carissa oilspill beach disaster, descended from Jacob B'Hymer and Elizabeth France of Clermont, OH. Happy Spring! My husband's BEHYMER line is under the BARGER section of our homepage, if anyone is interested in reading for connections. His page starts with both sets of his grandparents going back by generations, with names, dates and localities. http://members.truepath.com/beverly/index.html What are your lines with names, dates and localities? Judy, I have no listing for a George W. Bruce in the file I extracted, however, the file mainly consists of the ancestor line going back. I hadn't intended to pull in all the descendants they have in the file. I will, however, check the next time I have access to it to see if he is there. On my Behymer line. Hello, I'm Bev Elmshauser, very new to the Behymer search party. Elijah and Cassandra are my ggg-grandparents through Delilahs sister Christina. I have no information on the Behymer ancestry yet, but in my search for Behymers at the LDS library I stumbled onto a possible descendancy from Robert the Bruce of Scotland through the Ward/Lyon line.
