    1. My book "Gourds Don't Rust" is now on the web.
    2. Don Gosdin
    3. Just to let every one know, I have put virtually all of the text of my book on the web. You can access it at my history pages at the URL provided in my signature at the end of this e-mail. It isn't necessarily pretty, but I'll be streamlining it as time goes by. There is some meaty stuff in the form of family letters biographies and histories for the southern Pickelsimer line. The TOC gives more description. I will be adding a lot of photographs over the next few months, as well as text, so check back every so often if you follow this branch of the family. 1. William M Behymer continued.....
    2. Gary Behymer
    3. This is my first response to the letter I sent yesterday. Gary Behymer *********************************************** From Sal Grundy? mailto:SalGundy@aol.com Gary, I hope this is the correct family. William M.(anford?) Behymer marr 1) Anna Leach on Jun 19, 1845 in Ripley, IN. William was born about 1825 in Clermont Co, OH to John Lewis and Jane (Meeker) Behymer and grand- son of Nathaniel and Anna Magdalena (?Ferguson?) Behymer, the later came to Clermont Co, OH from Virginia and was a brother (or thought to be) of my John and Barbara (Weddle) Behymer. Their were 8 children of this marriage. The mother died about 1867 in Noble, Richland Co, IL. William married 2) Susan Cole +/- 1868 either IL or MO. As far as I know, there were 4 children of the 2nd marriage. William was in the 1880 Rockford, Boone Co, MO in 1860 still married to 1st wife and 4 children of 1st marriage. William was in 1870 Richland Co, IL, no wife shown in this census. Susan was in Mt. erie, Wayne, IL in 1880 - no husband shown. One researcher also said that William m 2 to a Susan Ely, another said Susan Cole. In 1880 a Susan Behymer married to a Samuel Ely on Mar 15, 1883 in Wayne Co, IL...could this be Susan Cole Behymer? Anyway, it looks like the child- ren were: 1. James Elmer born May 1871 MO. He married Charlotte Jane Hatfield, Jan 12, 1892 in Protem, Taney, MO. James was living in Taney, MO in 1900. 2. Ivan Behymer b. 1871 IL. He married Elizabeth Anthony Campbell in 1902, Nashville, Davidson, TN. Ivan died 1938 Detroit, Wayne, MI. 3. Erasmus Manford Behymer, born Sep 17, 1874, Richland, Noble, IL He married 1) Sarah Elizabeth Ford, before 1895, maybe Protem, MO. He married 2) Vertie Augusta Dowell Lyle, after 1920. His SS#525-36-7353-Erasmus. He died Nov 1971 res. KY. 4. Viola b 1876 White, IL. nothing further. This was quite a large family group and a lot of them went to Richland/White counties, IL. Sallye *********************************************** Here is another letter I have dated June 3, 1997 Hi Gary: This is in response to your letter to my Dad Roy A. Behymer, now deceased. I am very much interested in the Behymer Genealogy Group. In all info regarding Behymer history. I would hope to even learn when our 'branch' came to America and from where. From your info, it looks like we share the same great grand parents and our grandfathers were brothers. I will give you the infor I have and hope you will ocrrect anything you know to be different. As you will see, I don't have a lot of full names, dates of birth, marriage and death, or places of these events. Sincerely, Evelyn June Behymer Epps ....she continues..... Our great grandfather: William Behymer married Susan Cole who was born August 26, 1847 in Leithfield, Ky. They had three sons and one daughter: Erasmus, Jim, Ivan and Ola. William was killed by a runaway team of horses going over a bluff in 1878. After William's death, Susan married Sam Ely. They had three children: Lizzie, Sam and Rebecca. Sam preceded Susan in death by 20 years. Susan died March 23, 1935. My Grandfather: Erasmus Manford Behymer was born September 17, 1874. He married Sarah Elizabeth Ford, who was born October 15, 1878 in Independence, Mo. Her parents William B Ford and Lucretia Stover. Erasmus and Sarah had eight children. (Gary's note...This the Ford that killed Billy the Kid?) Nancy Ethel born October 11, 1895 in Raytown, Mo. Claude Hobert born march 17, 1897 in Raytown, Mo. Minnie Laura born February 25, 1899 in Newkirk, Ok. Raymond Cleo born September 8, 1900 in Newkirk, Ok. Clarence Oral born June 3, 1903 in Newkirk, Ok. Roy Alfred born October 4, 1904 in Newkirk, Ok. Cecil Andrew born May 6, 1908 in McIntosh, NM. Gladys Evelyn born September 6, 1912 in McIntosh, NM. ************************************************ Gary's Note....anyone at BEHYMER-L@rootsweb.com related to anyone in the above listed group?

    1. Re: Ralph Behymer's research
    2. Most of his material is in the Batavia Library, even the masses of pictures that he had accumulated over the years. You can use any or all of it for research and it really is quite interesting. You may also request materials and they will do their best to find it for you. They charge a coping fee for this service and will accept donations if you want to send them. Gaye

    3. Fellow Behymer researchers: I just posted an update to the Beckelhymer section of my web page. Point your browser to: http://members.home.net/johntippet/ This update adds the 1870 census enumeration for Clermont and several other Counties in OH, with a smattering of KY and MO census enumerations as well. Please advise if you see any errors or have additional enumerations you would like me to add. John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com

    1. Ohio death certificates
    2. John Charles Tippet
    3. Fellow Behymer researchers: The following web site has a searchable death index for the state of Ohio from 1913 to 1937: http://dbs.ohiohistory.org/dindex/ There are about 150 Behymers/Beckelhymers/Pickelheimers/etc. listed. Death certificates can be ordered for $1 each. Is anyone out there interested in pooling our ressources to order all 150? I would be willing to contribute $15 to the effort. Copies could be made and distributed to those who contributed to the effort. I would incorporate the results into my database and post an update of the results to my web page. It takes about 60 to 90 days to receive the certificates based on the volume of requests that are received. John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com

    3. The following was posted to the OHClermont list as being in the 1876 Clermont Sun paper. TONE-BEHYMER. On Tuesday October 31st, 1876 by Rev. L. M. DAVIS, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. WM. J. TONE to Miss FLORA J. BEHYMER, all of Clermont County. I have some papers from Cassie Tone (who was somehow a family relation, according to family mythology) and was wondering if she was a descendant of the above couple. Does anyone know if the couple above had a daughter named Cassie? If any of her relatives are interested in the papers, I could send them on. Thanks for any help! ---Susan in Chattanooga
