Fellow Behymer researchers: So far there are 7 of us willing to contribute towards ordering the 100 (not 150 as I had previously guestimated)or so Behymers/Beckelhymers/Pickelheimers/etc. death certificates from the state of Ohio for $1 each. That's about $15 each. Is anyone elso out there interested in contributing? With 3 more volunteers, we could get the price down to $10 each. Copies will be made and distributed to those who contribute to the effort. I will incorporate the results into my database and post an update of the results to my web page. It takes about 60 to 90 days to receive the certificates based on the volume of requests that are received. John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com
Fellow Behymer researchers: I received an E-mail with an attachment documenting the descendants of Sophia Behymer and Chapman Archer, as follows. If anyone is interested in receiving a copy of this 35-page descendancy narrative, please contact me privately, and I will forward you a copy (note: rootsweb does not allow attachments). John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com Dear Sir: I am writing to thank you for the information I obtained from your Beckelymer website. I am descended from the marriage of Sophia Behymer to Chapman Archer through their daughter Matilda who married Richard Ayer, my gg grandfather. I noticed you have his name as Ayers on your web site. The name is found spelled several ways in print but all have ended up spelled AYER on their grave markers and in family Bibles. Since you had little information about the children of Richard and Matilda I am attaching a report of my ancestry related to yours for you to use whatever is of value to you. Feel free to contact me as to any questions regarding sources, etc. Yours truly, ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Roger

Does anyone know if the record of Elder Johan George Becklehymer has been used by descendants for membership in Descendants of Colonial Clergy?
Fellow Behymer researchers: Please be advised that I just posted an update to my web page today. Point your browsers to: http://members.home.net/johntippet/ Included with this update are many more census entries for 1870 as well as a first cut at the 1880 census. For 1880, I have posted mostly just Pierce Township, Clermont County, OH. Behymers who are not currently in my database are flagged in red. If you have any information on these individuals, please contact me. Also, if you have other 1870 census entries (other than the few I have not looked up yet, let me know). Enjoy! Fellow Behymer researchers: It is my pleasure to welcome aboard a new subscriber to the list, Dianna Wright. As indicated below, she is looking for a Wright/Behymer connection. I have checked my database and find only one Wright/Behymer marriage in it: Harvey O Wright married Lennie Behymer on 15 Jun 1888 in Mason County, IL. Lennie was the daughter of Francis Marion Behymer and Marietta Ruble. I don't know if this Lennie is one and the same as the Mary Behymer that Dianna is looking for. If it is, she may find more information on this line by going to my web page at: http://members.home.net/johntippet/ Does anyone elso on this list have other Wright/Behymer marriages that fit this description? I sent Twila an e-mail last night. It hasn't bounced, but she hasn't responded, either. Most curious. Tom
Hi Behymers, Please note new e-mail address. From Helenbe@aol.com To Helenbe@earthlink.net Keep up the good work. One of the Clermont County Bunch, Helen Behymer
Fellow Behymer researchers: I have volunteered to be your new list administrator as the E-mail address of the previous administrator, Twila Veysey, is being returned as an invalid address. As my first duty, I would like to thank Twila for the support she has given this list over the last several years. When and if she returns as an active participant and should she desire to resume the duties of the list administrator, I will gladly relinquish the position back to her. In the meantime, please bear with me as I learn the in's and out's of being a list administrator. John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com
Fellow Behymer researchers: I have posted a significant update to my web page today. Point your browser to: http://members.home.net/johntippet/ Changes as follows: (1) Most of the 1870 census enumerations for IL, IN, KY, MO, OH and VA are now included, although the ones that have question marks in the first two columns are those I haven't looked up yet. Individuals flagged in red are those who are not in my database. If you know anything about any of the red-flagged individuals, please contact me. (2) I updated the Clermont County marriages by flagging in red those Behymers whose parents I have yet to determine. If you have any information on these red-flagged individuals, please contact me. (3) I have added a significant number of Behymers to the Missing Links section of my web page. In addition, I reformated the descendancy narrative similar to the way the main Beckelhymer page is formated to make it easier to read. I would like to thank Bonnie who contributed much of the information on Elias McCord who married Elizabeth Behymer, born circa 1800. I found the James Vail who married Judith Behymer in the 1840 and 1850 censuses of Clermont County. Enjoy! John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com
Hi, The email address we have for the BEHYMER list admin veysey@coos.or.us is bouncing. Will the list admin please contact Andrew Billinghurst (billingh@rootsweb.com) so we know you are still maintaining this list. Thanks! List members, not to worry. Probably just an email problem. Fellow Behymer researchers: One of the intriguing pieces missing from the Behymer puzzle is: who was the Elizabeth Beckelshymer who was enumerated in the 1820 census living in Goshen Twp, Clermont County, OH? She was born between 1775 and 1794. She had 2 sons and 1 daughter born 1810 to 1820 and 2 daughters born 1805 to 1810 . Also living in the household was a male born prior to 1775. The following theory occured to me. Might she not be the Elizabeth Smith who married David Beckelhymer/Picklesimer in Montgomery County, VA in 1794? David and Elizabeth Becklehamer were enumerated in the 1810 census in Campbell County, KY along with Elizabeth's father, Ebeneazer Smith - this information from John Wayne Picklesimer). Per the 1810 census, this Elizabeth was born between 1765 and 1784. She had two sons born between 1794 and 1800 and 3 daughters born between 1800 and 1810. From the births of her children she would likely have been born circa 1780. Note that the two census enumerations above are consistent in that they both contain 2 daughters born in the overlapping 1805 to 1810 timeframe. The older male in the household in 1820 could have been Elizabeth's father, Ebeneazer Smith, otherwise, he would have been listed as the head of household. Also enumerated in the 1820 census for Goshen Twp, Clermont County, OH (a few households away) is one William R Pickleshymer, born 1795 to 1804. His date of birth is also consistent with one of the sons enumerated for David and Elizabeth per the 1810 census. The David Beckelhymer/Picklesimer who married Elizabeth Smith is thought to have been the same David Picklesimer who later married Sarah (Betsy) Prater in Floyd County, KY in 1817 per John Wayne and John Walter Picklesimer in their book: The Picklesimers of Eastern Kentucky. The assumption was that David's first wife, Elizabeth Smith, had died prior to 1817. I wonder if the David who married Sarah Prater was a completely different David, instead? Just some rambling musings to generate some action on this list... John Charles Tippet johntippet@home.com
