    2. Kathy Friend
    3. Hi Twila, Yes, that's my "Elusive Elijah" Behymer. i wasjust looking thru my info. I don't have much info about the wives. Susan showed up in census records and is mentioned in Elijah's will. I don't have any other info regarding her. Elijah's death date was 11-8-1868 in Brown County, Illinois. I have never determined a burial place for either Elijah or Susan. Kathy Graham Friend P.S. Are you going to be the new list owner?

    2. John Tippet
    3. I am in the process of recording all of the land transactions for Behymers (and associated families) in Franklin County, VA (1786 - 1897) and in Clermont County, OH (1800 - 1879). For the Franklin county, VA transactions I have read most of the deeds, while for Clermont County, OH, I only have data, at this point, from the indexes (since there are about 500 transactions involved!) For Franklin County, VA, I have recorded the folowing names: Beckelhymer, * Picklesimer, * Lazena, * Waggoner, * France, * Henry, * Landis, * Vansel, * For Clermont County, OH, I have recorded the following names: Beckelhymer, * Picklesimer, * Lower, * Archer, Chapman Custer, Christian Robb, Peter Littleton, Thomas Eppert, Jacob Summerfield, Joseph Windsor, Joseph W. Hambleton, Samuel Swem, William Morgan, John F. Robb, James T. Arthur, William Robb, John Nash, William Herron, Thomas Gray, Wilson Thompson Note that in the above * is a wild card meaning all given names of the indicated surname (with variations) are listed. I am formatting the results in two ways - an Excel file and a Word file. The Excel file is handy in that it can be sorted on any of the columns one might be interested in. However, some of the entrys may be incomplete. This is because, I have not yet received all of the microfilms I ordered from my local LDS library. When they come in, I will publish an update. In the meantime, I am willing to post an interim release, because I think the list will find them interesting. The problem, however, is that I discovered that rootsweb does not accept enclosures with E-mails posted to the their mailing lists. Consequently, I will need to send these attachments directly to those interested as opposed to the mailing list. If you are interested, respond to this E-mail and indicate which format that you would be able to read - either Excel or Word. I am hopeful that I will re ready to send out this interim release this weekend, as I have a few more hours of work ahead of me to complete everything. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com P.S. I will be extending this research to Campbell Count, KY, and various counties in VA and IN next. Stayed tuned...

    1. Re: ELIJAH BEHIMER (son of Daniel and Anna of Campbell Co,KY)
    2. Rob, To answer your question about 2 marriages. Billy Bob's web site indicates this first marriage, but nothing else, and at that time, there weren't any other "Elijah" Behymer's that I know of besides a part of that family ended up in Estill Co, KY. At the time of Daniel's death, in the selling of the property, it indicated that Elijah was in IL. I had found them as you can see in Christian Co, but never did too much about it. Some of the family also lived in Estil Co, KY, and the Estill Co KY Marr Bonds 1811-20 indicated that Elijah Pickelsimon marr Elizabeth McKensey 1813.Oct.17. As far as I could tell, unless Elijah's name was Daniel Elijah, I did not find him listed the tax records of Campbell Co, KY, and the first record I found of him was 1830 in Christian Co--which I have not read. He should be found at least in a 1820 census, but I didn't find one, so am not sure where he was at that time. I am jumping to the conclusion that his first wife died sometime before 1836. This really would need to be checked out. I THINK that David as shown in 1850 census and again as Daniel in 1860 census was a child of Elijahs. Also the Aaron as shown in 1870 census as a child of Elijah's. This should be checked out also. As for the Fred Hammer I am not even sure that is a Behymer name, but should be checked out, even tho I don't think he was Elijah's child. As I think I told you, I just again picked up researching lately, after being so busy with personal reasons, so there is a gap of at least 8 -10years since I did all this researching. What should be done, is do a compelte check of this family. You will also note that a lot of the kids went to Brown Co, IL - where the Logsdon's were located. Incidently, I have a lot of information on the David/Daniel of 1850-1860 census, if it proves out that he is part of this family. Sallye

    3. Frank: Per the book: The Picklesimer's of Eastern Kentucky by John Wayne and John Walter Picklesimer, p. 69, I quote: John (3rd) (b. 1765-1770) who married Elizabeth Miller in Rowan Co, NC in Jan 1794, and who shows up in the 1820 and 1830 census for Bath County, KY was the father of: Sally who married William Fortune in Montgomery Co, KY in Sep 1823, Betsy who married Ben Warner in Bath County, KY in Jul 1825, Rachael, Jesse who married Eliza Gill in Bath County, KY Mar 16, 1831, Andrew who married Matilda Bibb in Clark County, KY, Sep 1, 1834 and James who married first, Amanda Martin in Bath County, KY Oct 8, 1835 and second, Elizabeth Cassity Sep 5, 1844. These were the 6 children by his first wife. He married secondly, Katherine Sailor in Fleming County, KY Sep 20, 1813 by whom he had 5 daughters: Rebecca, Lydia, Polly, Ann, Caroline and Amarinda and 3 sons, John, Jr, Jefferson and Asa. The daughters all married in Bath County, Rebecca to George W. Swank Oct 13, 1831, Lydia first to William Minear Jun 9, 1834. They removed to Iowa then later to Texas where William died. Lydia married secondly in Texas to Meachum Curtis. Polly Ann married Diego Watt Markely, Jan 21, 1839. Caroline married Curtis Crouch, Apr 5, 1843 and Amarinda married George Cup, May 18, 1845. Of the sons,. only the record of Asa's marriage was found. He married Catherine Sadler Apr 14, 1848 in Morgan County, KY. The date of John's death is unknown, but his will was filed for probate in Bath County, KY in Jan 1844. Katherine Sailor married secondly Oct 19, 1847 in Bath County, KY to Stephen Smoot. Note: John did not move from Montgomery, KY to Bath County. When Bath County was created in Sep 1811, from part of Montgomery County, his homestead fell within the bounds of the new county. Hope this helps. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com P.S. The book referenced above is available for purchase. 3. To: John W. Picklesimer- In response to your email to me dated 9/14/98 I have done some checking on the person you called Noah Kendrick Picklesimer (Francis Marion, Nathaniel, Abraham Adam). The children of Kendrick Erastus Picklesimer (His legal name) are as follows:Jesse Alva Picklesimer, born July 16, 1898, d. May 1, 1970 ; Evelyn (or Eva)Picklesimer, Born February 9, 1903, d.August 22, 1979; Harry K. Picklesimer, Born Sept. 13, 1905; Kendrick Clay Picklesimer, Born May 20, 1911, in Jennings Co. Indiana, died August 19, 1985, Johnson Co., Indiana, Married to Ida May Nealis, May, 1927. There is no record of a Noah Kendrick Picklesimer, Jr. Being born or dying in Jennings Co. I went last week to check the birth records for Kendrick Clay to see if there was a chance of a twin, and there was none. Also checked their death records and found none. I would like to know where you got your information about there being a Noah Kendrick Jr. and let them know their information is wrong. Also, on Kendrick Clay's birth record it states his father's legal name as Kendrick E., not Noah Kendrick as you had stated. No one in the family had ever heard him called Noah. |

    3. I wanted to thank all of you who contributed money towards ordering the Clermont County, OH Behymer probate records that were not available through LDS. I have received contributions from Cathy Silva, Nancy Weaver Knight and Linda Adkinson, with pledges from Clifford Trimble, Pam MacRae and Sallye Gundy. With these contributions, no one will be out of pocket more than $20. Again thanks for the support. As a reminder, the Clermont County clerk indicated that they would only be able to do the research on a "non-interference" basis with their normal duties, so it may be a while before we see the fruits of our labor. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com P.S. I tried to send an enclosure containing all of the Behymer land transactions for Franklin County, VA to the list today, only to have it returned to me. Apparently, rootsweb does not allow E-mails with enclosures to be sent to their server. I have a similar list for Clermont County, OH (with about 500 transactions!) that I would be ready to post this weekend. I guess I will have to find another way. My strategy now is to add this data to the new Behymer web page. Stay tuned... I will be ordering the films for Campbell County, KY next.

    3. Hello all - I am really new here, and sorry to have come in to some sort of "heavy" stuff. It makes me feel like it's none of my business, and really it isn't. Also, with so much discord going on around me throughout the day, I don't want to be involved in it here. So, guess I will take a jog out for awhile, and come back some other time when I won't have to sit on the benches. I have enjoyed some of the humor, though...thanks for that.
