    3. My opinion, is that the children of Samuel and Sarah had to be born in Clermont County, since their parents lived there from 1840 through at least 1860 (per the census returns). It seems preposterous that they would remove to Campbell County, KY, every time Sarah was about to have a baby. Even though there may be a Madisonville located close by in Hamilton County, Samuel and Sarah were living in Clermont. ---------- > From: Tom Robison <tcrobi@adamswells.com> > To: BEHYMER-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: Samuel Behymer > Date: Saturday, October 31, 1998 1:50 PM > > John Charles Tippet wrote: > >I have an E-mail from you dated 1 Sep 1998 in which you list Samuel Behymer > >and Sarah Ward's children as all being born in Madisonville, Campbell > >County, KY. 3. Twila, I don't think I'm related to anyone on the list, seems like I have to be, but, maybe it's so distant that I just haven't figured it out yet! My father was Charles Glenn Behymer (1926-1956). He was one of two children born to Charles Russell (1895-1978) and Adele Mae Daniel Behymer. Charles Russell was one of 6-9 children of William (1835-?) and Matilda Martin Behymer. From what I have learned on this list, I believe William was son of Samuel (1809-1887) and Sarah Ward Behymer, and Samuel the son of Solomon (1781-1858) and Polly Webb Beckelhymer. If anyone has conflicting info on William being a son of Samuel, please let me know. Congratulations on being the potential new list owner. I hope everything is alright with Jen and that she just became too busy to do the list or lost interest. I have really enjoyed being part of it and have gotten alot of helpful information about my relatives from it--much more than from the other lists I'm on. Thank you all. Linda

    1. New Behymer Web Page Update
    2. John Tippet
    3. I have just posted a major revision to my home page. Changes are as follows: (1) Addition of genealogies of two more families that I am working on: Doyle and Perrine (2) Addition of the 5th generation down from Elder Johan George Beckelhymer (Amwell, NJ COB) (3) Addition of many new Behymer scanned images from the Clermont Courier, circa 1890 (4) Addition of the Franklin County, VA and Clermont County, OH Behymer land transactions (the later from the index only since there are approximately 500 transactions involved). Enjoy! John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com P.S. Changes, corrections, additions, etc. welcome

    2. Veysey
    3. As the new unofficial listowner to be, I am assuming the responsibility of responding to the issue of off-topic messages. 1. The purpose of this list is to provide a place for researchers of the Becklehimer/Picklesimer/Behymer surname and all name variations to share information. The best way to make sure your message is read by all interested parties is to put relevant wording in the subject line. For example: Jacob, b. 1776, VA 2. Most list members are cousins and many members are friends. Therefore, it is appropriate to share personal information, such as news about an upcoming marriage, graduation, birth, serious illness or death in the family. We are also concerned about tragedies regarding a house fire or flooding in the Clermont Co. area last winter. If you are interested in sharing such information, please put "CHAT" in the subject line. If you are not interested, you may delete the message without reading it. If you are not related to someone on the list, please let us know. Everyone should eventually connect to someone here and we would love to figure out where you fit in. If you don't feel like family yet, read the "Chat" messages, join in, and you will soon be one of us! 3. If you have the urge to share jokes, please write "Humor" in the subject line. If you are not interested, you may delete it without reading it. If your message contains personal info, humor and Behymer genealogy, use your best judgement. No flaming allowed. If you are unhappy with the list, please contact me privately. We have never pretended that this list was like other genealogy lists online. We are proud to be different. Together we can accomplish alot and maybe eventually we will be able to make significant progress in tying together our roots. We're glad you are a part of this list. Help us to make it the best place to be on the net! Twila Veysey Future listowner

    3. Hi, All- I sent the following about a month ago and got no responses about it, so I post it again in case any newbies might benefit. ====================== Below please find a transcript of the text of the will of Solomon Behymer, husband of Mary (Polly) Webb, kindly provided to me by Sallye. It is conceivable that y'all who are descended from Solomon already have this document, but it is new to me and I forward it for your edification. Any spelling errors are verbatim from the handwritten copy I was sent, including the spelling of his last name. A couple weeks ago Sallye asked (on the list, I believe) if anyone has looked to see if a distribution of the property was done after Mary died, as Solomon stipulated. Mary died, ironically, 128 years ago today, 20 Sep 1870, but my records don't show where she died. [my records indicate that Solomon is buried at the Mt. Holly Congregational Chapel.] Has anyone done any research here? As there are some questions regarding how many children they had, the distribution of the estate after Mary's death may be illuminating. ++++++++++++ The Last Will and Testament of Solomon Behymer: "In the name of the Benevolent Father of All, I Solomon B Hymer of the County of Clermont and State of Ohio, being of sound mind and memmory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit: 1st: It is my will that all my just debts be fully paid - 2nd: It is my will that Mary B Hymer who keeps house for me have all my property both real and personal during her natural life - 3rd: It is my will that at the decease of said Mary B Hymer that all my property that is left unexpended by her both real and personal be equally divided between all my children their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly, I appoint my friend Thomas Sheldon Executor of this my last will and testament, hereby annulling all former wills by me made, and hereby ratifying and confirming this as my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of September AD 1851." 3. I thought it was all just a joke. I do like the jokes. And I thought Richard was teasing also. I have been searching for Catherine Picklesimer b. 1804 married 18-12-1824 Joseph b. 1801 for three years and I still haven't a clue where to find proof of her Parents and a joke now and then is a way to make my DAY. 3. Thanks to those of you who sent the votes of confidence. The humor will continue, suitably noted in the subject line, so that it may be deleted unread if so desired. And I will not interrupt you with humor when the list is busy and active with legitimate research. It is good to remind oneself from time to time that genealogy is a hobby (for most folks) and is therefore to be enjoyed. Life is too important to take seriously. 2. Hi, Whenever I see Madisonville I immediately think of Madisonville, Ohio. It is a suburb of Cincinnati (zip code 45227) and although it is in Hamilton county it is reasonably close to Clermont county. I have Sarah Ward listed as b. 1815 in Madisonville, Ohio. Perhaps this could be the answer. Samuel is in my husband's line. Samuel - George - Samuel - Christoper - Lew (my husband). Hope this helps. One of the Clermont Co. Bunch, Helen
