I noticed that you posted the message behymer breakthrough on the Clermont Ohio digest. I am researching my husband's lineage. He is the great great grandson of Elizabeth "Fanny" Behymer (born 4 July 1813, died 2 January 1875) who married James Taylor Robb. They had a daughter, Sarah Robb who was my husband's paternal great grandmother. She married Evan Hughes and they had Ernest Hughes, my husband's paternal grandfather. He married Ella Perrin (a surviving triplet) and their son, Lloyd Allen Hughes was my husband's father. Please advise what breakthrough has been found. I have been unable to find anything about Fanny's parents though I have requested information through many forums. I will share any information I am able to find with any interested party. --------------CE7211F1354--

    2. John Tippet
    3. My most wanted ancestors are Michael Lower and his sons, Peter, Jacob and John. Michael bought land in Clermont County in 1806 and then later sold it in 1809. I do not know where they came from prior to migrating to Clermont or where they went to after leaving Clermont. One of Peter's sons, John J Lower is my gg grandfather and he married Elizabeth Beckelhymer, daughter of Joseph Beckelhymer and Christina Lazena in 1824 in Clermont. John J was born in VA per the census records, but I have no idea in which county his parents lived, or for how long they were there. There is a short mention of Michael Lower and his sons in the Everts history of Clermont County, according to which, Peter Lower killed himself in a fit of insanity in the Ohio River. There is also a land transaction in Clermont for a Sarah Lower in 1826. Sarah is a probable sister to my gg grandfather, John J, and I would like to know more about her. The only data I have, other than the land transaction, is that she is a niece of Jonathan Beckelhymer who became a Mormon and left Clermont for Nauvoo, IL. Jonathan was there during the time that Joseph Smith was killed. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com

Thanks to Linda, we have partially solved another Behymer individual Note: Jacob Rardin and wife Elizabeth lived in Campbell Co, KY. They apparently lived close to Martin & Elizabeth Behymer and all are buried (maybe with the exception of Martin's wife) in the Rardin Private Cemetery, Campbell Co, KY. Jacob Rardin departed this life June 8, 1854...79yrs, 19days Elizabeth Behymer Rardin died Sept 23, 1862..61yrs. This Elizabeth was a dau of John & Barbara Behymer. I assume that the Walter Rardin was one of their children. Bert is going to send me a copy of the list of people buried there, and I am going to contact the Campbell Co Historical Society for any other information they might have on the Rardin family, etc. Elizabeth Behymer would have been born about 1801 instead of 1788...which may allow some of the others in Clermont, such as Solomon, Daniel, Joel, Jacob to be sons of John, Jr. Sure wish I could find John and Barbara's marr. date. It may be that John was married 2X. 1. BEHYMER breakthrough!!
    2. Linda Adkinson
    3. John, Sallye, Rob, Tom and all, I got some wonderful mail today! I now have the Marriage Bond (and maybe the application--there are 3 sectoins) for my great grandparents, William W. BEHYMER and Tillie J. MARTIN! I'll send you a copy, Sallye, and anyone else if you will just send me your address. This proves that my William Behymer WAS NOT the son of Samuel and Sarah Ward, who was born in Sept. 1835. William's age on the bond was 20, on 26 Jul 1880. Tillie was the daughter of Samuel J. and Mary E. MARTIN--S. J. Martin is on the bond, also Lewis BEHYMER signed as a witness. I think there is a strong possibility that my William was the son of Lewis (b. 19 Nov 1838), who was a brother to William (born in Sep 1835), both sons of Samuel and Sarah Ward Behymer. Sallye, I also found it interesting that R. J. Rardin was the deputy clerk, spelled like Rardin cemetery. The bond reads as follows: Know all Men by these Presents: That we, Wm. W. Behymer and S. J. Martin are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the just and full sum of One Hundred Dollars, current money, in the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, heirs, etc., jointly and severally, by these presents, sealed and dated this 26 day of July 1880. The condition of the above obligation is such that, whereas there is a Marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Wm. W. Behymer and Tillie J. Martin. Now should there be no legal cause to obstruct the same, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue. Witnessed by R. J. Rardin D. C. Signed by William W. Behymer and S. J. Martin. Commonwealth of Kentucky, County of Campbell--To any Legally Authorized Minister of the Gospel, You are hereby authorized to solemnize the rite of MATRIMONY between William W. Behymer and Tillie J. Martin and in so doing THIS SHALL BE YOUR SUFFICIENT WARRANT. Given under my hand, as Clerk of the Court for the said County, This 26 day of July A. D. 1880 Signed Thomas Jones CLERK By R. J. Rardin (deputy clerk). I Hereby Certify That on the 26 day of July 1880 William W. Behymer of Clermont Co. O, 20 years of age, born at Ohio was married to Tillie J. Martin of Campbell Co. Ky, aged 17 years, born at Campbell Co. Ky and single, by Geo Froh Minister, Of the Methodist Church. Dated, Campbell County, Ky. July 26, 1880 Witnesses: Lewis Behymer and N. T. Rouse?, truly recorded. Attest: Thos. Jones, Clerk, By R. J. Rardin, deputy clerk. Isn't that exciting? I'm still waiting on a death certificate of a William who died in Hamilton county, OH. Can't wait to see if it is my William or not. Hope you all enjoyed this find half as much as I did. Linda

    1. MARTIN BEHYMER
    2. Linda, Did Herman R "Buck" Seibert, who told you where Martin was buried, get in touch by email or reg mail. I would like to contact him. I thought I had all the cemeteries in Campbell Co - but do not have the Rardin Cemetery. It must be on private land. Incidently, there is a Campbell Co. library in Alexandria, KY and a library in Newport. Might check with them about William. Sallye

    3. I just got a message from Herman R. "Buck" Seibert, who had responded to me on the Campbell Co., KY query list. Unfortunately, he said all he knows of Martin BEHYMER is his burial place, Rardin cemetery, on Carthage Rd. in Campbell Co., KY. He had answered my query about Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate. I am anxiously checking my mail daily, waiting on 2 records I sent for, hoping to find the parents of my great grandfather, William W. BEHYMER. I'll pass on whatever I find--sure hope it's something definite! Linda

    3. Linda: Of course it does help me (as well as other Behymer researchers)! I also think Sallye Gundy would be interested since she is directly related to Martin. I am including her (as well as the Behymer list) as a cc to this E-mail. Who is the person providing the information? 2. Cliff I have made copies of the probate records, and you are first on the list to send them to. These were pretty bad photo's, and not too much information (usable) in them, however it is good information to keep with your files. They should be in the mail tomorrow, unless we are being flooded out here. Sallye Gundy Martin 9819 Shadow Way Sunland, CA 91040-1543 ( LA co.) 818-352-3097
