Kathy, If Sarah died 1873.Feb 17, it still could not be the Sarah Seeborn. 1880 census soundex Versailles, Brown, IL. husband not here; SARAH 47-OH; Samuel P 17=IL/PA/OH-son; Henry E 18-IL/PA?OH-son Jessie M 12=IL/PA/OH-dau; Clara Bell 10-IL/PA/OH-dau Elizabeth Seaborn 44-OH-Sister I might say this was a different Sarah, but children are the same as 1870 census, and she had a sister living with her - E.Seaborn. I only read a soundex, didn't actually read the county census...but it should be right? I do not have any census in 1880 for Elijah??? I do show that Daniel and Sarah Seaborn had a chld Elijah Beehimer, born Nov. 26, 1857, and died Aug 18, 1880 IL.Brown.Logston Cem 22y 8m20d. Incidently, in the estate papers ..who did he show as his children and/or wife? Sallye

William (BillyBob) is researching the Daniel and Anna family from Campbell Co, KY and you can find his website at: http://members.iglou.com/wbehymer/ As I told the Behymer group, I believe Daniel is a son of Elijah Behymer's first marriage. Kathy, Thanks for the information. I guess that I have the death of Daniel wrong. I don't know where I picked it up...no references. Sarah who is buried in Southside Cem at Brown, IL...is not Sarah Seaborn. According to my 1880 census of Versailes, Brown, IL ...Sarah was still alive, and her sister Eliz. Seaborn, besides several of her children were with her. I read just the Soundex for this, and it did not show Daniel there. I do not have a 1900 or 1910 census on this family. Odd thing, I found another marriage for a Daniel. He married a MARY McKENZIE in Mar 8, 1853 in Christian, IL. Now Sarah's first child was shown as being born 1856 (twins). Could Daniel have married 3x? Originally, there was a mix up of Daniels, as a Daniel, from a another branch of the family lived in Macon, Brown, IL about the same time. He also had various wives. They appeared to have gotten mixed up, but think that they were straightened out. I have not found a marriage date for Daniel and Seaborn. The reason I feel Daniel was a son of Elijah, as both families lived in Taylorville in 1880, fairly close together. So, if they were father and son, Billy Bob will probably want to know also as he is researching the Daniel and Anna from Campbell Co, KY. JOHN T....Did the article say where Daniel was buried? who wrote the article? Sallye
Sallye: Samuel Enoch Behymer, son of Daniel and Rebecca died on 5 Jul 1905 in Taylorville, Christian County, IL per the article that I mentioned, not in Brown County, IL in 1879 as you indicated. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com
Sallye: The LDS Church apparently has not filmed the land transactions for Fulton County, IL. The only way I got the Beckelshymer deeds was to write to the Fulton County Clerk directly. Regarding Campbell County, KY, the LDS film numbers for the indices are: 0459977 for surnames A-L and 0459978 for surnames M-Z. I have already copied all of the Beckelhymer/Picklesimer and Rardin deeds, and these are posted on my web page. There were no Levi, Aaron or Chapman Behymer deeds - the only ones are the ones posted on my web page. When in Salt Lake City, there is no charge for the films. You only get charged when you order the films from your local LDS branch, in which case, they have to mail them from Salt Lake, hence the charge. ---------- > From: SalGundy@aol.com > To: BEHYMER-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: Fulton Co, IL Behymers > Date: Sunday, January 10, 1999 6:31 PM > > John > I should have asked to check on the Browns and Frances deeds also. Hi Sallye and all, I received info about Daniel Behymer from Lisa Winters in Decatur, Illinois(Macon County). I have no real proof, just her research. Daniel Behymer born 30 Jan 1822 in Kentucky married 15 July 1841 - Macon County, Illinois to Rebecca Hanks CHILDREN: Anna"Hannah" born 1841 Samuel Enoch born 17 Sep 1844 died 5 July 1905 baby Daniel's second wife = Sarah Seahorn born 17 Nov 1827, died 17 Feb 1873 Sarah is buried in Versailles, Illinois cemetery Daniel and Sarah had 8 children=Martha, Elijah, Mary, Susan., Sarah, William,. Henry, and Fanny. Lisa didn't have names of Daniel's parents. I thought Daniel was the oldest son of Elijah, but while hunting through my research, I can't find proof. The 1850 census of Christian County, Illinois showed a Daniel as 28 years old, born in Ky and a laborer living with the Frink family. Hope this helps, Kathy
In a deed recorded in Montgomery County, VA on 2 Jun 1795, James and Margaret Robertson sell 184 acres of land on the south fork of Ron oak to John Pickelsymore for "many good causes and in consideration of value." This last phrase usually means there is a close family relationship between the two parties involved. Does anyone know what that connection might be? John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com

Tom I think Rob 's only mistake is in the wording. The census indicated that Daniel was living with Swem, and that he, meaning Daniel, was declared an idiot. Getting upset raises your blood pressure! Sallye
John I should have asked to check on the Browns and Frances deeds also. What was the No of the film? Lucy Behymer Brown lived in Fulton Co, and she later married a France. Also, did you find a Levi, Aaron &/or Chapman Behymer deeds?? I would be glad to help defer any costs. Mail them to me first and I will try to type them out. Then they could be put on the net. Do you have the film numbers for Campbell Co, KY? I would be glad to check that whole group out in Campbell, together with the Nelsons, Perrys, Huffs, Binkleys, Van or Von Gundy, and Blums, besides the Behymer and now Rardins. I think I have most of them, but on my FRS I type out the pertinent information for said deeds. Gee, when in Salt Lake City, didn't cost for the films, just for the photocopy of the deeds. Times do change. Also, branches used to cost $2 to rent a film. And they say there is no inflation! Even as I speak, postage went up a penny...not much...but in large quantity, it will amount up! I guess you realize, at least half of the deeds won't give any information that is going to help us. They all seemed to move back and forth...or just buy property. Anything that pertains to heirs, or surnames that are part of the family, might do some good. Sallye
Hi all! I'm interested in eventually getting a copy of the probate records for Clermont County. I'm not sure where in the process they are and/or who has them, but I'd love to see them or get a copy. I'll be glad to reimburse for any copying expense, of course. Please let me know what I need to do/who I need to contact to get these copies. Thank you for any help. I've been working lately on my mother's family and not my father's Behymers. Much like Linda, I have some info to compile into my database, and then I'll be much more up to speed on the Behymer side again. Now that cold and yucky winter weather is here, I'm already spending more time on the genealogy thing. Thanks for all the wonderful information that has come down through this list in the past few weeks. I can hardly keep up with it all!! ---Susan in Chattanooga
It is good to see a little more dialogue going on with the list again. I have missed reading about new discoveries but know everyone has been busy with the holiday season. I have been working on the Creasman/Chrisman side and still trying to have a double tie in with John and his Chrisman line as well as Behymer. Also, I am anxiously waiting for the next generation on your web page John. Thanks everyone for sharing you records and I know we will have another great year of new information. Dulca

Hello John, I agree that the talk on the list needs to be revived. My problem is that I'm kinda at a standstill on my immediate family and my recent posts to this list and the Clermont Co. list have received no responses. That's probably because you guys have supplied me with all of the info you have and I haven't found anything new lately. I am still excited about finding out which William BEHYMER was my great grandfather (think I finally have the right one but always looking for more info to verify it) and I need to take the time to sort through everything, then maybe I can post some more specific queries. I read all the posts with interest but my limited files prevent me from being able to help much and I am preoccupied with finding more on my great aunts and uncles (children of William and Tillie (Martin) BEHYMER). I do not object to helping on the costs of the deeds your talking about, but first I want to see what I can find in the probate records you got earlier. I'm sure I'm on that list to get them sent to me so I can review them and pass them on. Sounds like Sallye can help you out on some deed info, as usual. She has always provided a lot of helpful things to me and the list. Keep up the good work, John--your website is wonderful. I think I'll go to it again and see what's new there, I check it often. Linda
The dialogue on this list seems to have dropped off dramatically, of late. What's wrong out there? Let's get this list going again. In an attempt to inject some viagra into the old boy, I offer the following: In going through the Clermont County deed index again, I picked up something that I had missed previously, that I think is interesting. It turns out that Jacob Kinsey (father of Susanna and Sarah who married Jonathan Beckelhymer and Enoch Beckelhymer, respectively) lived for a time in Clermont County. Apparently he came with the other Beckelhymers from Franklin County, VA, stopping in Clermont County before moving on to Preble County, OH where he died. He bought 300 acres of land from Nathaniel Lucas in 1803 (Book C2, p. 211). There are 3 other transactions where he sells land, 114-2/5 acres in 1806 to Enoch Parvin (Book E4. p. 17), 136 acres in 1815 to Samuel Ricker (Book M11, p. 382) and 110 acres in 1816 to Elijah Ward (Book U19, p. 88). The Enoch Parvin transaction is interesting as he was the father of Mary Parvin who married Samuel Beckelhymer. There was one other transaction for Enoch Parvin (his heirs, actually) 108 acres in 1825 from James Taylor (Book X22, p. 172). This deed has the potential for providing some interesting genealogical data. Abraham Stoner, Sarah Beckelhymer's second husband (after Enoch) also lived in Clermont County. I haven't checked the deeds out yet, but if you go to the Clermont County US GEN web page (http://rootsweb.com/~ohclermont/resource.htm) and click on Obannon/Stonelick Church, there is a very interesting history of the Brethren Church in Clermont written by Merle Rummel, the church historian. Many of the prominent Clermont County families are mentioned. It is highly recommended reading. The Stoners were one of the Brethren families mentioned. I wonder if Merle has anything on Abraham who married Sarah in Preble County, OH. Merle? John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com
I came across the following in the Central Illinois Genealogical Quarterly, Vol XV, No. 3, Summer 1979: Daniel Behymer, born 30 Jan 1822, married Rebecca Hanks, daughter of Charles Hanks and Hannah Martin. Daniel died in 1879 and is buried in the Versailles West Cemetery.. They had three children: Ann E. b. 1843 in Macon County, IL, Samuel Enoch, b, 17 Sep 1844 in Morgan or Macon County, IL and died in Taylorville, Christian County, IL on 5 Jul 1905, and a child who died in infancy. Does anyone recognize these Behymers? Who were Daniel's parents? John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com
John, Haven't time to say too much this evening, but will get back to you on the Daniel and Hanks in Ill. I corresponded with a gal in Texas, I believe, about this family. Also, want to talk to you about the deeds you wrote about. I have all of Samuel's family photocopied and am still trying to get to the post office. I also have a lot of the deeds that you talked about, not necessarily the actual deed, but pertinent info on them. Will try to get them out and mail copies. Will go into all this later, when I have more time. Sallye
As you know, I have compiled a list of all the Behymer deeds for Clermont County, OH. There are over 500 hundred of them, and I have posted them to my web site: http://ourworld.compuserve/homepages/JohnDoeTippet These were compiled from the deed indices which are on two microfilms, but not from the deeds themselves. The reason for this is that it costs me $3.50 for each microfilm that I rent through my LDS family history center. Over 50 rolls of microfilm would have to be examined to read all of the Behymer deeds. Thus, it would cost me approximately $185 just to rent the films, not including any copies I would make, which run $0.25 per page. I would like to read all of these deeds, recording any relevant genealogical information, and making photocopies of any especially relevant deeds. I would post the new data to my web site for all to read, and distribute the photopies to the members of this list. The total cost would run probably around $200. If there were 20 volunteers willing to contribute $10 each or 10 volunteers willing to contribute $20 each, then I could start this project. Let me know if anyone is interested in this.
