I have received no feedback on whether anyone has looked at the data I added to my web page, and whether anyone found it interesting or informative (other than Kenny). It takes a lot of time to transcribe some of this data, and if no one is reading it, then my time can be better spent doing other things. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com
I have a copy of Marriage 1. Enoch S. Behymer & Mary F. Campbell's Marriage License, 2. Enoch S. Behymer & Sarah A. McVey's Marriage License. It list Enoch's age at 30 and Sarah's as 18. 3. Winfield S. Brown & Luella Behymer it List's Luella's parents as Sam'l Behymer & Mary F. Campbell 4. Alfred T. Behymer & Pansy L. Mandrell it List's Alfred's parents as Sam Behymer & Sarah Boldin Birth 1. Charles H. Behymer, parents as Sam Behymer & Sarah Allen Death 1. Alfred T. Behymer, parents Samuel Behymer & Sarah Ellen Hanks 2. Benjamin Frank Behymer (should be Harrison not Frank), parents are listed as Samuel Behymer & Sarah McVoy. 3. Fred Behymer, parents Samuel Behymer & Sarah McVey. 4. Charles Edward Behymer, parents Benjamin Behymer & Hilda Brining 5. Fairy Louse Behymer, parents Benjamin Behymer & Hilda Bryning I have some conflicting dates for Samuel Enoch Behymer's birth and would like to find a birth record for him. I think I have most of the information about his children just not positive verification of most. Have not been able to track down any info on Audrie Ellen Wykle. I have had a hard time with Samuel because he kept switching first & middle names and often spelled his last name (B'Hymer). Have been trying to track down civil war records for him I believe he joined up deserted and the reenlisted under a different name. I have most of the information about my Grandfather Benjamin Harrison Behymer but no evidence to back any of it up and would appreciate anything anyone might have about him. I have a copy of Daniel Behymer's probate if anyone would like a copy of it or anything else I have please let me know. Thanks
Rob, No, I can't verify Samuel Enoch Behymers birth and/or marriage date except.... In the material received from Twila, I believe, a list of marriages and death records she received from IL. Gen Soc., they had the following marriage: Enoch Behymer marr Mary Campbell - Nov 30, 1865 IL.Macon I in turn, figured I had mistyped my information of being 1861.sam mo./day Census reports I have for 1900 1860 - Samuel was 15 1880 - Enoch was 33 1900 - Samuel was 52 - marr 26y ....apparently not to the same woman. Lets wait to go any further on this until I get the Article that John Tippet was talking about. This was written by the same woman who contacted me several years ago, and her husband was a descendant of Louella Catherine Behymer Brown. (Louella was first child of Samuel Enoch). Kathy, yes I believe also that Daniel and Aaron who were in Christian, IL were from Elijah and first wife....but we have no proof. The only reason I know Elijah was descended from Daniel and Anna, was thru Daniel's estate disbursement. Rob, I believe Twila had marriage details where to find each marriage, if you want a certificate. I believe she indicated at the time that she could give us a book, page #, or maybe Chuck can give us an answer. I have sent him some info I had and will be hearing from him soon. Glad he wrote to me and that he has already joined the group. Did I answer all your questions, Rob? Incidently in those lists Twila sent us, there was a DANIEL marr MARY McKENZIE Mar 8, 1853 IL.Christian BUT NONE FOR A SARAH SEABORN. There were actually a lot of marriages shown for Christian, IL. Sallye
Robert, Sallye, Chuck (if you're out there) Robert, I don't have any proof of Samuel and Sarah's marriage, just Lisa Winters' research. It says: Samuel Enoch Behymer 1st marriage = Mary F. Campbell-30 Nov 1865 2nd marriage=Audrie Ellen Wykle-June 1871 3rd marriage=Sarah Allen McVey 13 June 1875 Decatur, Illinois, Macon County Chuck, I'm only 15 miles east of you on Route 9.. I belong to the Genealogy Society at Versailles, Illinois (Brown County). I'd be interested is seeing your research. Welcome Aboard!!!!! Have I added to the confusion of the Elijah family? Hope no! Hopefully, we'll get everyone in order!!! Kathy

Chuck, Good to hear from you. There are several of us who are interested in your line of Behymer's. I have been collecting Behymers for about 25 years and had some of your line but only down to Benjamin Harrison Behymer. What can I do to possibly help you? What are you looking for? Do you know anything about Elijah's first wife through whom Daniel and Aaron came? I would be interested in what you have in Licenses, Birth and Death certificates. Please let me know what information you need! I'll help with whatever I have. Sally, Can you verify marriage date of Samuel Enoch Behymer and Mary E. Campbell as being 30Nov1865 in Macon, Il. Do you have a certificate of marriage? Somehow I have 30Nov1861 but no source. Hi Sallye, I don't want to make this more confusing......... but, all these years, I took it for granted that Daniel and Aaron were sons of Elijah. Maybe not. But who could be their parents? I only have 3 daughters listed for Henry and Rebecca Logsdon Behymer, Nora May, Susan and Lucinda. In fact, I have a picture of the 3 girls, probaly as teenagers. I don't know who Nancy (b1880) could be. My records show that all 3 girls were born in Brown County, Illinois. Susan married Henry Logsdon and died 1899. I want to contact Chuck Behymer who is researching this line of the family. He is only 15 miles from me. Til next time, Kathy
I have the Clermont probate records at this time and will be forwarding them shortly. There are still two people on the list of those supplied by John Tippet. I have copied all but need the originals on some of the darker copies. John, I would like to read the article about Daniel Behymer. Please e-mail me a copy. Thanks Kathy
Sallye, Elijah's will stated: "I wish my wife to have all my money, land and personal property. during her lifetime and at her death to be equally divided among all my children." There was no individual listing of the children. Here are the names of Elijah's children that I found on census records: Frances, William, Sarah, Henry, Susan, Lucien Taylor, Isabella. Nancy and Charles. Henry is my gg grandfather. I always thought that Daniel and Aaron were children of Elijah, but no proof. Henry's obituary sstated that he was the last of 11 children. If you add up the ones that I just listed, there are 11. I found a scribbled note (don't you just hate scribbled notes!) among my research that said Daniel Behimer and Rebecca Hanks married 15 July 1841 in Macon County, Illinois. I don't have much info on Elijah's children. Would like to be able to fill in the blanks. Keep in touch, Kathy
Sallye: The article was written by D. A. Brown, 337 Mayhew Dr., Dallas, TX 75228. Daniel was buried in the Versailles West Cemetery circa 1879 according to the article. I think you had the death of Samuel Enoch wrong, not of Daniel. The article has 6 generations listed starting with Daniel and Rebecca and ending with several descendants born in the 1930 to 1960 timeframe. I would be happy to send this to anyone that is working on this line. To Sallye, I just checked the book "Cemeteries of Brown County, Illinois." On page 357 it says: South Side Cemetery Behymer, Sarah, wife of D.Behymer,(died Feb.17, 1873) aged 45 years 3 mos) The age would be right for the Sarah that was listed as married to Daniel in Lori Winters' information. I wonder which Elijah was in the 1880 census in Christian County, Illinois Elijah, who was in the census for Christian County in 1850 and 1860, died in Brown County, on 11 August 1868. This is my direct line. I have a copy of his will and estate sale. Hope I haven't confused you, Kathy
Chuck, The mail that you have been sending to the Behymer group, could not get thru, as you are not a subscriber. We would love to have you join our group, all you have to do is send email to the following: BEHYMER-L@rootsweb.com and in the SUBJECT, enter SUBCRIBE. It will end up with Twila Veysey and she will take care of it then. I got your mail sent, but I didn't send a copy of Elijah to you. Yes, I had found that a Daniel marr a Mary McKinzie....however she never showed up in a census. As I told you, would love to share with you. Chuck, I am sending a copy of this letter to Veysey...so if I didn't tell you the proper way to subscribe, maybe she will take pity on me and advise you the proper method. Sallye
