    3. I just discovered a fantastic web site that you should all know about. Point your browser to: http://www.glorecords.blm.gov There you will find a searchable database of original government land patents for several states, including Ohio, Virginia and Illinois. You can search these by surname and then download electronic images of the patents themselves! I haven't spent any time yet searching for Beckelhymer patents. Let me know if anyone finds anything of interest. John Charles Tippet JohnDoeTippet@csi.com

    3. Chuck, I would like to see Daniel's probate records. I have copies of Elijah's probate. I'll gladly give to a copy. I also have a copy of his bill at the general store in Versailles, Illinois. The items are listed from Jan1,1868 until August, 1868, the time of Elijah's death. The store bill is interesting to look at. Lots of tobacco purchased!!! No cake mixes, boxes of cereal, instant pudding like today's grocery lists. I still have a lot of blanks on Elijah's page. Maybe you can help me fill them in. Hope to hear from you, Kathy

    2. In a message dated 99-01-15 09:21:25 EST, you write: Maybe I can help cast some light on this line, as I'm a descendant of Henderson Beckelhimer. << Greetings Rena...This BECKLEHEIMER line is a very confusing line. I've had several contacts with various researchers and they all seem to have conflicting information. The children you have listed for Levi and Elizabeth LASLEY can't be right as they were m. 2-12-1884 MCVA That is exactly when they were married but were living together prior to 1860. Elizabeth Lasley is living with Levi in the Montgomery Co. Va. Census 1860. He was still technically married to Nancy Ann Newman because she never gave him a divorce and so Levi married Elizabeth (finally) after Nancy died. Levi and Elizabeth had a son named Henry Edmundson Beckelhimer in the 1860 census also. (I've seen the marriage license), his third wife and at 70 years of age. His first wife is believed to be Artissima FERGUSON m. abt. 1830 with whom he had 5 children. This is correct although there's never been a marriage found for them she signed her mark as a witness to the land transaction between Jacob and his son Levi Beckelhimer. The children you listed are by his second wife Nancy Ann NEWMAN m. 2-13-1841 MCVA. Charles G. m. 1888 Angelia JENNINGS Charles G. is a son of Levi and Elizabeth Smith Lasley. d/o my gg gp John and Hannah WIMMER JENNINGS. I don't know how accurate this info is but below is what I have on Levi based on other researchers info. What I can't figure out is that if Levi and Nancy were m. in 1841, why no children til 1858. Any way, for what it's worth, here it is...Chuck. Descendants of Levi Beckleheimer Generation No. 1 1. LEVI4 BECKLEHEIMER (JACOB3, ABRAHAM2 PICKLESHIMER, SR., JOHANN GEORGE BECHTELSHEIMER1 BECKELHEIMER) was born Abt. 1814 in Montgomery County, Virginia, and died October 1892 in Montgomery County, Virginia. He married (3) ELIZABETH SMITH LASLEY February 12, 1884 in Montgomery County, Virginia. I will continue to forward your mail to the list until this is straightened out. Maybe you need to resubscribe. I know that Benjamin married Eunice Fitzpatrick, but this in an entirely new person. I found in the Indiana marriages......Thomas Beckelhymer marr a Eunice Henderson on Jul 21, 1848 in Fountain Co, IN. Since I am looking for a Thomas, son of Martin Behymer, I was hoping this was him. I never found a Thomas Beckelhymer in the census, and maybe he wasn't there long enough to get in one. Incidently, did you find probate/will on Benjamin ? When you have the time....let me know. I have traced my line to James Beckelhymer (b. 9 April 1805 / d. 3 May 1880). Was Jacob Beckelhymer, Jr. (b. 20 August 1761 / d. ?) his father? What else do you have on this line? 3. Can anyone give me all the census data on Nicholas BELL for 1900 and 1910? I have a record that Fred. Lee BEHYMER, age 12, OH/OH/KY b. 28 Apr 1888, was a ward of Nicholas BELL on the 1900 Clermont, Union Census. Would like to know if 1910 census shows Charles R. BEHYMER as a ward of Nicholas BELL. If you have this info, please send it including all the people in the household. I believe Nicholas was husband of Mary Alice BEHYMER, great, great aunt of Charles and Lee. Also trying to find out if other BEHYMER children lived with the BELL family. Thanks. Linda

    3. John, I have read your updates and find all of your Beckelhymer information very interesting and helpful. I refer to it often and do appreciate all the work you have done. As far as the deeds go, I am mainly interested right now in getting more info on Samuel, Lewis and William Behymer and William's children but, so many share the same first name that I can't tell which ones are my direct line. Linda
