Author: RobAlbert63 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: Message Board Post: It could be a coincidence that the Henry Behrend in 1900 census being born in April of 1846 matches with the one in Gadebusch, but it could also be that they are one in the same! If you look at the data in the 1900 census, there are more kids beyond those listed with the family, likely older. I do see an August that could be theirs living in Cedar County, IA. Do you have a list of all of their children? August was born in Germany, and he matches with the ship record. Assume you have that ship record, correct? There are 2 other children on that ship. If you do have the names of the other two children from your research and you haven't seen a passenger list yet, this could 100% confirm that this is indeed the correct Henry. Census states the couple had 10 children, and 10 living at the time of the census. Census shows 7 with the parents, August would make number 8, and these other two kids on the ship would add up to....10!
