Sharon, Congratulations on becoming New List Administrator! Good Luck! Question on BEEBE: I have an ELIJAH BEBE CLARK born in 1831 in New Concord, Columbia County, NY. My problem is I have nothing on this man's family other than his Father was CLARK and his mother BEBE (BEEBE?)...no first names. I have no knowledge of siblings either. ELIJAH BEBE CLARK left New Concord for the area around Albany, NY where he married Carrie E. (Caroline E.) Kelly of "The Indian Fields"/Albany, NY. They had four children: Mary E. Clark in 1858 in Albany; Ludie (Ludlow) born in 1864 but died before age 1 in 1865...interred in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, NY; WILLARD EVERET CLARK(E added) born in 1867 in Cohoes, NY...my father's mother's father; and Irving Charles Clark born in 1873 in Cohoes, NY. ELIJAH BEBE CLARK served in the Civil War of 1865...mustering in or near Albany in 1861. He survived the war and either mustered out in 1864 or deserted...going by the resulting birth of Ludie in 1864. He served in the Infantry and returned with the rank of Sargeant. He was a cabinet maker/carpenter by trade. To date, I have not found any living ties to ELIJAH BEBE CLARK. He died in Ellmhurst PA about mid 1920s. I believe Mary E. and Irving Charles CLARK were living there at the time which accounts for Elijah being there. I believe it is possible that at the time Elijah's elder son, WILLARD EVERET, owned and operated a box manufacturing company there...though his daughters were born in West Pittston, PA. Elmhurst near Pittston/Scranton. As for living relatvies...my father had only one...the daughter of WILLARD EVERETCLARK, his maternal aunt, died in October 2001. His mother, the other daughter, Jean Caroline CLARK HERZOG {Hamilton} died in 1966. Can you help me find ELIJAH BEBE CLARK? If not, sorry for the interruption. Alice Alsblugown@aol.com
