Is there anyone who has access to the Parish records for Leighton Buzzard who could look up a marriage for me? I have discovered a possible stray ancestor marrying there, as follows:- 1724 - John Twelvetree to Elizabeth Dawes In order to determine whether he belongs to my Twelftree/Twelvetree(s) family I need to know his parents or father's name and any other information that may have been recorded. I would be eternally grateful if anyone can help me with this problem. (Unless, of course, he was son of the vicar, or the local gentry family). Luckily, with a name like that, you can try the IGI with some hope of finding at least a likely one, then checking that there is no other candiate and no other likely marriage for the one found. -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society
