Hello David Many thanks for your reply and the info contained therein. The William you noted as being 55 in 1841 was most probably George's father as Elizabeth, Wiliam and John all tie in with the children of William's 2nd marriage to Elizabeth. I am also v comfortable with William being a blacksmith. It's a pity that you couldn't get the other William from the CD as this might have given more about his family, particularly wife, which could have helped in tracing his marriage! Either William could still have been the one baptised 1782 in Biggleswade however. I will discuss matters further with Roger but in the meantime thank you again. Best wishes Richard ----- Original Message ----- From: "David" <david11000carca@yahoo.fr> To: <BEDFORD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 19, 2006 6:02 PM Subject: RE: [BDF] LARKINS in Biggleswade > Hi Richard > > A Martha Larkins was buried in Biggleswade on 7 Feb 1808, so your > remarriage idea looks sound. > > The William who was in the 1851 census was aged 67, a retired > draper, born Biggleswade ie birth 1783/4 > > In 1851 George was a general smith. > > There's a burial of a William Larkins in Biggleswade on 10 Feb 1846 > age 64 ie born 1781/2.
