Dear all I'm taking part in a nationwide project on almshouses, co-ordinated by The Family & Community Historical Research Society. I am trying to find out as much as I can about Bedfordshire almshouses for the period c1300 to 1914. The aim is not only to include where they exist, but who founded them and when, their location and architecture, and who lived in them. I shall of course be doing much of the research in Bedford record office, but am hoping that there are others on this mailing list who can help out with specific queries, or who have some detailed knowledge. My first query is, does anyone know of any other almshouses apart from those listed below?: Ampthill - Feoffee almshouses Bedford - Best ditto Bedford - Dame Alice Bedford - Harpur Street Bedford - St John Broom - Fordham Caldecote - Harvey Cardington - Whitbread Clifton Cople Cranfield - Hartwell Dunstable - Ashton Dunstable - Cart Harrold - Jolliffe & Mead Houghton Conquest Leighton Buzzard - Page Leighton Buzzard - Wilkes Luton Milton Ernest - Turnor Oakley - Lovell Potton - Potter Shefford - Lucas Stevington - Barringer Toddington Turvey - Barton Woburn Thanks very much for any help you can give me. Regards Diana
