Thanks Reg for the message and thanks for the Riseley Marriage information. That's fine . Most of the info I have on Riseleys [all spellings ] is way back in the 1700's where we have a William 1770-1805 who married a Sarah.................? Their daughter Sophia Riseley married George Waldock, miller ofAstwick Mill. George and Sophia's daughter, Sarah Riseley Waldock married Robert Emery Cranfield Grant 9 Sept 1853 at Astwick. I am searching for siblings, marriages and children in all these families, also dates and places. There was an oil portrait of George Waldock which we saw in England in 1976 when we visited a family cousin at Bromley. The whereabouts of any other pictures of this line would be of interest. Aileen Interested in your Riseley information as I am trying to trace the marriage of a Robert Riseley and Mary ? , who were the parents of Maria and Catherine, both of whom ended up in Tasmania in the early 1800s. The IGI shows Robert's birth in 1753 and his marriage to Mary ? in 1779, both at Great Catworth, Huntingdonshire, but this is only information provided by someone after 1991 and possibly not reliable. I wonder if this links in to your Riseleys and, if so, whether you can confirm any of the above and perhaps Mary's maiden name and birth details?
