Hi, I'm new to Bedfordshire research, but I think I may have a stray who turned up in Shefford in 1891. John BLACK, b.1880 in Yorkshire is listed as an Inmate at the St. Francis Orphanage for Boys there. Does anyone know if records for the home still exist, and if so where they might be? I'd like to find out if this is "my" John Black (a great-uncle), otherwise missing in the 1891 census, but listed with the wrong birthplace. Patrick Cumbria UK
