Mary, Hello from a fellow Aussie. I've just spent nearly an hour trying to find your elusive Joseph King in 1901 census. I can see your problem. There is no reason for him to be missing other than a dreaded transcription error. However, there was some good news. Go to www.rootsweb.com and click on Family Trees in the banner line at the top. Search for Jesse Bierton. This is Susanna's father. There is a submission there by Heather Rorher that contains details of the family. Heather looks to have a database of over 100,000 names including some Linning lines. She has Albert 1898, Ernest 1900 and Sybil 1903. Ernest and Sybil are shown as born in Tring, Hertfordshire so they may have moved immediately after the marriage. However, I still can't find them and I don't have credits for 1901 to investigate all the possibilities. The list also shows that Susanna died in 1945 in Tring, Hertfordshire, so maybe that's where you need to look. Peter in Sydney
Hello Peter Thankyou so much for your assistance. I know how frustrating it is. We have been to UK and checked out Tring and Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire. We did find the Memorial monument in Tring with Ernest Kings name on it. The Website you sent did give me some information along time ago, but then I found some discrepanies after we started to purchase certificates or Census sheets. I will go back to it, as I have not looked at it for a few years, That is all my husbands family line in that family tree. Somebody suggested Joseph KING may have gone to War. I have not gone down that tract to check out the Boer War records. Thanks once again.
