Hi I have been given a photo of supposedly a shop front of one of my ancestors in Biggleswade. The name Sandon is on the shop front. However, I'm trying to find the name of the street. One clue opposite this Sandon shop is a pole with a picture of a white swan at the top. I was just wondering if this might have been a pub sign and maybe there was a Swan pub/hotel in Biggleswade. The things in the photo look quite old, maybe early 1900s??? One thing may help to date and label the street, is that there appears small piles of concrete/brick? squares(about 60cm along each side) along the dug up kerb as if they are replacing old squares. There is a man in a penny-farthing riding down the street. I also heard there is an informative website for old English pubs???? Any clues would be very helpful to establish the name of the street. Cheers Clive Sandon
